PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS remains the record holder for Steam’s highest-ever concurrent player count, while Counter-Strike 2 led the current-player snapshot in DemandSage’s ranking dated 2 November 2026. The figures provide two different views of PC game popularity: the largest audience reached at one time and the number of players online during the report’s dated check.

DemandSage placed PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS first for all-time peak players, with 3.25 million concurrent users recorded in January 2018. Black Myth: Wukong followed at 2.41 million, while Palworld reached 2.10 million. The chart covers titles on Steam and is relevant to players in the Philippines who use the platform, although the figures are global rather than country-specific.

The all-time Steam peak ranking

The list published by DemandSage, with data credited to SteamDB, also includes several major multiplayer and single-player releases. Counter-Strike 2 ranked fourth by its historic peak at 1.86 million, followed by Monster Hunter Wilds at 1.38 million and Lost Ark at 1.32 million. Dota 2, Cyberpunk 2077, ELDEN RING and Banana completed the 10-game table.

The ranking also noted a significant debut for Phantom Blade Zero. Following its release on 29 October 2026, the game reached an all-time peak of 833,900 concurrent players, placing it below the 10th position in the historic table but above the peak reported for Call of Duty, which reached 491,600 players. DemandSage also listed Team Fortress 2 at 253,900 concurrent players, highlighting the continued presence of an older title on Steam.

Counter-Strike 2 leads the dated snapshot

All-time records do not show which games had the largest active audiences during the report period. In DemandSage’s current-player section, Counter-Strike 2 was listed with 448,500 players online as of 2 November 2026. The figure is a snapshot, not a permanent measure of the game’s audience, and player totals can change daily.

  • Highest all-time peak: PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, with 3.25 million concurrent players.
  • Highest current figure in the dated snapshot: Counter-Strike 2, with 448,500 players on 2 November 2026.
  • Newer notable entry: Phantom Blade Zero reached 833,900 concurrent players after its 29 October release.

DemandSage said Steam was expected to release 23,817 new games in 2026, but the chart shows that only a small portion of those releases reached very large audiences. For players in the Philippines and Southeast Asia, the ranking offers a global reference point for the scale of Steam communities, while it does not indicate local player numbers, regional server populations or game availability in any specific market.
