Roblox says AI tools now assist more than 80% of its top 100 games

Roblox says more than 80% of its 100 most-played games used AI assistance in September, while its Build platform has helped create over 70,000 games since Q2.

Roblox says artificial intelligence is becoming a significant part of game creation on its platform, with more than 80% of its top 100 games by hours played using AI assistance during September. The company disclosed the figure in a shareholder letter, as its generative tools continue to expand across Southeast Asia and other markets.

The platform’s AI-assisted creation system, called Build, has generated more than 70,000 games since the second quarter. Roblox said usage of its AI development tools among top creators has grown more than threefold. Two games described as being created almost entirely with AI also reached the top 20 by concurrent players during the third quarter of 2026.

“AI-enabled game creation, automation in code generation and AI supported asset creation are leading to an explosion of content.” — Roblox, in its shareholder letter

Build is available in four alpha markets

Build launched in late July 2026 as a mobile-first tool that allows creators to use AI to generate games and other content for Roblox. Its alpha release currently covers New Zealand, Singapore, Serbia and Thailand. The company said more than 500,000 users have used the tool in those markets and have published over 70,000 games.

That rollout means the Philippines is not among the countries identified for Build’s alpha launch in Roblox’s shareholder letter. The figures nevertheless matter to Filipino players and developers because Singapore and Thailand are included in the initial regional test, giving Southeast Asian creators access to the system before any wider availability is announced.

Age limits and safety remain part of the rollout

Roblox says Build is available to age-verified users nine years old and older. AI-generated games published through the platform are available to users aged 16 and older. These restrictions are important for families in the Philippines and Southeast Asia, where Roblox is used by both children and older players, but the company’s figures also show that its AI tools are reaching a broad creator community.

Roblox reported that users under 18 represented 18% of daily active users in the third quarter of 2026, while the 18-to-34 group accounted for 26%. The company is also preparing a Universal Player initiative that would let developers bring an existing console, PC or mobile game into Roblox. Roblox said the plan is intended to help it extend the success of its under-18 audience to users aged 18 and older.

The expansion comes amid scrutiny of how Roblox manages child safety while growing engagement and revenue. In August 2026, the chair of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism accused the company of prioritizing “revenue and engagement metrics over the safety and well-being of our children.” Roblox’s shareholder letter presents AI creation and age controls as part of its broader platform development, but it does not announce a Build launch date for the Philippines.
