Shiba Inu Rooms is being adapted into an anime by TMS Entertainment, with the series scheduled to arrive in 2027. Shueisha has opened an official website and released a teaser trailer, although the announcement has not set an exact broadcast date.
The adaptation follows Kori Momose, a high school student who lives by herself after transferring schools. She discovers Maison Shiba, an unusually inexpensive residence that costs 4,800 yen per month. The catch is the building’s supernatural occupant: a ghostly Shiba Inu named Mu.
A haunted room and an unfinished goodbye
Kori hopes to help Mu move on so she can keep the room for herself. The teaser shows her inspecting the apartment, moving in and encountering the dog already haunting the property. It also introduces the Japanese voice cast for the two central characters.
- Kori Momose: voiced by Niina Nakabayashi
- Mu: voiced by Mutsumi Tamura
- Animation studio: TMS Entertainment
- Anime release window: 2027
The official website is available in both Japanese and English, giving international readers access to the adaptation’s initial information. The teaser provides an early look at the series’ setup without revealing a precise launch date or a Philippine streaming platform.
The manga is available in English
For readers in the Philippines and elsewhere in Southeast Asia, the manga is already the confirmed way to enter the series. Viz Media and Manga Plus carry the English version, and both services make the first three chapters and three most recent chapters available to read for free under their respective access systems.
