Philips has expanded its Evnia gaming monitor line with the Evnia 36M4C5500P, a curved ultrawide display the company describes as the first 36-inch gaming monitor. The model sits between typical 34-inch ultrawides and larger 38–39-inch alternatives, offering a physically larger image at the same pixel count as many 34-inch panels.

Panel, performance and brightness

The monitor uses a 1500R Fast VA panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 3440 × 1440. Philips lists a native refresh rate of 240Hz, and an overclock option that raises the panel to 260Hz. The company also cites a gray-to-gray response time of 1ms and a 0.3ms MPRT figure when Smart MBR (Motion Blur Reduction) is enabled.

For brightness and color the Evnia carries VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, with typical SDR brightness rated at 350 nits and peak HDR brightness up to 500 nits. Philips states a static contrast ratio of 4000:1 and 95% DCI-P3 coverage, and claims a Delta E below 2 for color accuracy. An anti-glare coating is included to reduce reflections.

Connectivity, ergonomics and gaming tools

Connectivity is limited compared with some modern gaming displays: the Evnia 36M4C5500P offers two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 input and a 3.5mm audio jack. Philips notes DisplayPort supports 3440 × 1440 at 240Hz, while HDMI at the same resolution is limited to 100Hz. The 260Hz mode requires enabling the overclock setting. The monitor does not include USB ports for peripherals.

The stand supports height adjustment and tilt. Additional features include a rear-facing Iconglow RGB lighting element and a MultiView mode that lets users display two input sources simultaneously. Philips also equips the display with several on-screen gaming utilities, including Stark ShadowBoost, Smart Crosshair, Smart Sniper and Smart MBR Sync.
