Gaijin Entertainment announced that Active Matter has sold more than 500,000 copies worldwide across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the publisher said in a press release shared on 27 October 2026. The figure aggregates sales on Steam and Gaijin.Net together with console versions of the game.

Platform split and Xbox Play Anywhere

The publisher highlighted that Xbox currently represents the largest share of Active Matter players, noting the title’s support for Xbox Play Anywhere as a factor that may have boosted player numbers on Microsoft’s platforms. The release did not publish exact percentage breakdowns by platform.

“Sales have remained remarkably steady since launch”

The publisher also quoted Gaijin co-founder Anton Yudintsev, who said the studio is looking toward post-release content later this year.

What the milestone means for players

  • Cross-platform presence: Active Matter is available on PC (Steam and Gaijin.Net), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S; the combined sales figure covers all three platforms.
  • Xbox momentum: With Xbox accounting for the largest share of players, the platform’s community and matchmaking pools may continue to influence where future updates and cross-play balances are prioritized.
  • post-release plans: Gaijin has signaled post-release content later this year, which could include new modes, events or expansions as the developer expands live-service support.

Active Matter is described by the publisher as a hardcore supernatural shooter featuring PvPvE extraction-style raids in quantum-unstable zones. The press release credited the game's cross-platform availability, including Xbox Play Anywhere support, as one reason for stronger-than-expected Xbox player numbers.

Gaijin’s statement did not disclose regional sales splits, specific player counts per platform, or pricing information. The publisher’s comment that sales have remained steady since launch indicates a continued player base and supports the studio’s intent to focus on post-release content later this year.

Players in the Philippines and Southeast Asia who follow extraction shooters or are active on Xbox ecosystems may find community growth and future updates relevant to matchmaking, content rollouts and platform-specific features as Gaijin proceeds with post-launch plans.
