Moonstone Island – What’s In The New Valentine’s Day Update?

Happy Valentine’s Day! We’ve reached one of the most commercially romantic days of the year and what better way to celebrate it than by getting married (virtually). The creature collecting, farming and life sim Moonstone Island has you playing as an alchemist in training. On your island you can grow crops, craft items, breed spirits and make friends with other islanders. With 10 of them having the potential to grow into something more. Check our romance guide for more information. As of yesterday in Moonstone Island, you could take your beloved out on dates. But with this latest Valentine’s Day update, you’re now able to marry and have a wedding with them.

This free update not only comes with the new marriage mechanic, but you’ll also be able to get your spouse to move in with you. Buy new outfits and furniture, and as a fun bonus, there are also new spirits, fish and more for you to catch. This whole Valentine’s Day update is a free DLC for those of you who own Moonstone Island, but if you’d like more unlockable cosmetics, there is a paid DLC pack as well. We’ll go through all this and more here.

Marriage and Weddings

The biggest feature coming to Moonstone Island’s Valentine’s Day update is marriage and weddings! You can now marry your beloved once you’ve reached maximum heart levels and have started dating them. You’ll need to propose to them with the new item – a Moonstone Ring. And if they accept your marriage proposal you’ll be getting married to them in the sky pretty soon!

The Moonstone Ring is not to be confused with the Moonstone Bracelet that you’ve given previously to start dating someone. To get the recipe for the Moonstone Ring, you’ll need to complete four home dates with the person to whom you gave the bracelet. After the 4th date, you’ll get the recipe in the mail.

Before the leadup to your wedding, you’ll be able to choose from one of three wedding outfits. Then while overlooking the Moonstone Island cliffs you’ll get married to them in the sky in a beautiful and cozy ceremony. After you get married your partner will move in with you.

As you might as expect all this will come with new and additional dialogue between you and your spouse, custom to each character.

Valentine’s Day-Themed Furniture (Free)

You’ll be able to make it romantic for your new spouse or loved one with a bunch of free Valentine’s Day-themed furniture! The most iconic being the Heart-shaped Bed and Tub. But with that as well are Flower Petals, a Heart Window, Champagne, a Lava Lamp, a Red/Blue Bouquet, a new White Chair, a Runner Rug, a Street Lamp, and Lovebird House Exterior. As well as a Villager Portrait of your beloved in the frame!

Designed for Lovers DLC Pack (Paid)

The ‘Designed for Lovers’ DLC pack is out now and will run you 3.39 GBP / 3.99 USD / 3.99 EUR for five romance-themed items. If you get it today there’s an additional 20% launch discount too.

The paid DLC pack comes with a few Valentine’s Day-themed items for your house. Including an actual heart-shaped house exterior, a Heart Archway, a Heart Rug, a Love Lamp, a Loveseat and a Box of Chocolates. It’s nothing fancy but will make a cute gift if your loved one enjoys playing Moonstone Island.

New Spirits

Five new spirits are coming to Moonstone Island – 4 electric and 1 poison.

Additional spirit-related features in this update are that you can now tame Spirits of any level at any point in time. You can only user them in battle if you’ve unlocked the skill that gives you mastery over them.

New Fish

Three new Dark Fish are coming to Moonstone Island in this Valentine’s Day update. Not to worry though because Tobin’s trophy case has expanded to accommodate them.
