Another new cozy farming game is on the horizon for us in September with Paleo Pines! First, we have a delightful farming sim set in the faerie world with Fae Farm and at the end of the month, we’ll be saying hello to one set in the past! This time your farming dreams can be made even more wholesome with the addition of some dinosaur friends. In this game, you’ll be setting up your farm with the help of your dinosaur pals. When your best friend, a Parasaurolophus has her whole species go missing it’s up to you to look for them!
Go on a journey filled with delightful discoveries. Build your own unique ranch and homestead. And most importantly be sure to befriend all the other dinosaurs on Paleo Pines and invite them back to your ranch to help! Earn their trust and offer them tasty treats to become friends! It’s a world of new discoveries, enchanting landscapes and many new scaly and non-scaly creatures to meet!
In this guide, we’ll go through all the dinosaurs that you can meet and befriend in Paleo Pines as well as their various skills, favourite snacks and more. We’ll divide this dino guide into the three regions of the map where you’ll be able to find your new friends.
Paleo Pines is set to release on the PlayStation 5|4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PC – Steam on September 26th 2023. When the game releases we’ll be sure to update this guide as well!
Veridian Valley
The starting area of Paleo Pines is where your home and Pebble Plaza are located. These are the dinosaurs located in the valley.

Ankylosaurus
Ankylosaurus might not be the fastest steed, but their impressive stamina and strength make them reliable companions. They’re said to have a very strong sense of smell, which helps them sniff out their favourite crunchy snacks.

Coelophysis

Don’t let their cuteness fool you – Coelophysis are known for startling inexperienced ranchers with their high speed and agility. They’re too small to ride, but they’ll happily follow you on your adventures, keeping up with even the fastest steeds.

Corythosaurus

Corythosaurus make for trusty steeds and are happiest hanging with the rest of a herd. With their sprinting ability, they make getting from A to B as quick as can be! They prefer a diet of tasty vegetables and have a great sense of smell for sniffing out fragrant treats.

Desmatosuchus

Don’t let their size and appearance fool you- Desmatosuchus can move fast. Their strength and sturdy builds make them a popular mount for travelling traders, but these archosaurs make for great sprinters too.

Gallimimus

Gallimimus are theropods found throughout Paleo Pines, beloved by ranchers of all ages for their bright plumage and playful nature! They make great steeds, too, thanks to their swift speed, ability to sprint- and how cute they look when they run!

Pachycephalosaurus
Pachycephalosaurus (also lovingly called ‘Pachy’) are friendly and social creatures. They might seem a little boneheaded, but don’t hold it against them – the hardened dome on their skull lets them smash through even the sturdiest of rocks with ease.

Parasaurolophus

Parasaurolophus are quite a rare sight! These friendly dinosaurs make for loyal, loving companions. They are versatile steeds, capable of travelling long distances and sprinting short ones. The curved bony crest on their head helps them make loud noises – often heard when they’ve just chowed a delicious treat!

Postosuchus
Postosuchus are large and swift archosaurs, often keeping to themselves in the wild. Despite their posture, the front limbs of a Postosuchus rarely touch the ground. They prefer to walk upright instead, using their arms to reach for juicy snacks.

Psittacosaurus

Psittacosaurus are adorable little dinos that like to hang out in pairs. They’re often found sniffing out fresh vegetables in the wild or using their beaks to crack open crunchy treats. Amazingly, Psittacosaurus are distant relatives of the Triceratops, but their small size better suits them for tracking than smashing.

Scelidosaurus
The sweet Scelidosaurus may be on the smaller side, but their tough, bony body keeps them safe as they seek out the freshest fruit to keep themselves full. They are most content in the company of a herd and prefer to roam in open grasslands.

Styracosaurus

Styracosaurus are horned herbivores, often found grazing in fields. Like its large ceratopsian relatives, such as the Triceratops and the Centrosaurus, the Styracosaurus is a friendly rock smasher and farm tiller. They are playful and loyal, and can’t resist a juicy treat such as a strawberry or tomato. Unlike the Triceratops, Styracosaurus can till one piece of land at a time – but it is faster at performing its farming skill.

Triceratops

Triceratops is a large ceratopsian, easily identified by its frill, horns, and love of fresh fruit. They’re loyal companions and make quick work of ploughing fields on the ranch, or cleaning paths in the wild. The Triceratops can till three pieces of land at once, unlike the Styracosaurus, who can only till one piece of land at a time. However, the Triceratops is slower at performing the task.

Wuerhosaurus
