Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals – How To Get All Endings

Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals is a narrative-based game where your choices affect the outcome of the game. Picking up five years after the supernatural events of Oxenfree we follow Riley and Jacob as they return to their hometown to investigate some mysterious radio signals. Your choices throughout the game will ultimately affect who Riley becomes at the end. Will you be friends with your old high school acquaintance? Will you help someons in need? And at the end of it where does it all leave you?

In Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals there are up to three endings for you to experience and one of the biggest decisions is going to who is going to stay behind within the Void on Edwards Island. In the last major decision of the game and one that will affect the ending you’ll be able to choose between Olivia, Riley or Jacob (depending on your choices). Leading you to three different endings.

  1. Choose Olivia
  2. Choose Riley
  3. Choose Jacob

In this guide we’ll go through all three main endings and what you’ll need to do to get them. After the main events you’ll get a box of items sent from Alex which will go over the other choices that you’ve made in the game and how it’s affected everyone. Watch out for spoilers below.

Choose Olivia

Ending: With Planetshine in Her Eyes

Choosing Olivia is actually one of the best outcomes you can get in Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals. She’s actually genuinely excited to go and be reunited with her parents, even if its in an endless fake eternity. It’s a bit of a bittersweet ending but ultimatley Riley believes that Olivia has earned the right to choose this.

“Just… be a good mom” is the last thing she says to her.

After your decision, you’ll wake up back in Uptown Harbor the next morning by Evelyn calling you. It appears she doesn’t remember a thing as she performs her next-day check-in. She tells you that Leslie was really happy with the work she did the previous day. Things don’t really seem to be checking out, though, as Evelyn will claim Riley’s transmitter placement was used to track the yellow-billed Cuckoos population rather than investigating the strange radio frequencies. Eventually she’ll ask you if you’d want to take on more work.

After saying goodbye to Evelyn, you can catch up with Alex as she’s seen wandering the town with her friends. Apparently nobody has any recollection of the events that took place. And after some conversing and further reassuring that Riley will be a good mother to Rex, she’ll also say her goodbye, leaving Riley alone at the bus stop.

Now, continue right, and you’ll soon spot Athena, who will lead you down to the dock where you’ll find Jacob. Thankfully, he’ll remember the events. After some general conversation, Jacob will apologize for not offering himself to the portal, claiming he always knew the answer would be Olivia, as it seemed she needed it. He’ll also suggest that Riley calls her dad to let him know that she’s going to be a mom; maybe, they can at least mend some part of their relationship.

Choose Riley

Ending: A Good Day Waiting on the Other Side (Good Ending)

If you choose Riley to enter the portal she’ll awaken back in Uptown Harbor at the bus stop to see and meet her son Rex running towards her. It would seem that in this timeline Riley will br living eternity with her son. Together they head oiff to hike through Camena together.

As you past the General Store, you’ll be able to interact with the radio on the wall. Here you’ll be able to tune into the following stations to overhear news about the storm:

94 – A news reporter will state that several landslides occurred around Camena and that a local ranger, Samantha Shelley, was lucky to be alive after she refused to venture outdoors after the storm hit a point of no return.

OR

88 – Maria will give a very special shoutout to Riley, as Charlie and Violet leave a message for her: “Sorry for almost erasing you from existence! Head to Pancake Mill on your way out, and Charlie’s sister (Cynthia) will give you a free OJ.”

It’s another happy yet sad moment as Riley gets to relive each day with her son on an endless loop.

Choose Jacob

The Jacob ending is a little more tricky than the one with Riley and Olivia. First you need ot ensure that Jacob actually makes it to Edwards Island at the end of the game by allowing him on the boat. And next you can’t become friends with him or let him read Maggie’s final letter. Unlike Riley and Olivia, who will go through the portal if asked no matter what, Jacob will refuse to enter the portal if those two actions have taken place.

If you ignore the hidden letters throughout the game and are mean to Jacob throughout the game, he will volunteer to enter the portal – otherwise, he’ll stay silent and will refuse to enter the portal if asked.

Jacob Ending #1: Jacob refuses to enter the portal and you must choose between Riley and Olivia instead.

Jacob Ending #2: Take Care of Athena

If you weren’t friends with Jacob in Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals, Jacob will volunteer to go even before Alex asks you to choose, offering up himself to be the one to enter the portal.

To make sure you and Jacob do not become friends you’ll need be rude to him, avoid telling him your secrets, including your pregnancy, lying in responses, and refusing to let him ask you a dumb question, which will shut down his offer to become friends.

It’s also important that you avoid finding Maggie’s final secret letter, as it’s addressed to Jacob.

Before Jacob goes into the portal he’ll talk about how he doesn’t have a life to miss and that nobody will really care if he does. And that Riley can look after Athena when he’s gone. He’ll also state that he wishes to finally see what Maggie was chasing almost his entire life. Probably the saddest ending imo.

After Jacob goes into the portal Riley will awaken the next day similar to Olivia’s ending. Except now after talking to Alex and following Athena the spot on the dock where Jacob would’ve been is empty. Riley then explains to Athena that Jacob is okay and that he’s found a purpose.

Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals

TVs turn on and off. Planes lose radar. Radio stations can’t broadcast through the static. In the small coastal town of Camena, unnaturally occurring electromagnetic waves are suddenly causing interference with electrical and radio equipment. Reluctantly, Riley Poverly returns to her hometown to investigate the mystery, but what she finds is more than she bargained for.
