Remnant 2 is a Soulsbourne game and the sequel to the original, Remnant: From The Ashes by Gunfire Games. For those of you that have never played a Soulsbourne game, all you need to know is that it’s a high-skill level game with hard-to-kill enemies.
In this game, you’ll have procedurally generated campaigns. Meaning that every time anyone starts a campaign, they get a completely randomised story in a randomised area that might have puzzles and different bosses. Since literally everything is procedurally generated in Remnant 2, you might start a campaign that you can’t continue and in that case, you can reroll your campaign.
Just like the first game Remnant 2 will offer you certain choices while you’re out on campaign. Most aren’t linked to the story but each decision will lead to a different reward and more often than not a slightly different boss. For the most part, because of the game’s procedurally generated campaigns, you can go back to get all the rewards.
But if you’d like to save some time and are curious these are all the choices and consequences you’ll get in Remnant 2 so far.
All Choices In Remnant 2
- Save Or Kill The Doe
- Shut Down Or Destroy The Core
- Kill or Be Eaten By Tal Ratha
- Plant The Thaen Seed Or Give It Away
- Give The Custodian The Echo, Or Not
- Side With Faelin or Faerin
- Fight The Red Prince?
Save Or Kill The Doe

In the world of Yaesha, one of the possible world bosses you can encounter is the Corrupted Ravager. Like with most world bosses, you’ll have the chance to talk with the Ravager before the battle actually begins.
In this case, it’ll give you the option to kill the Doe, the other main deity in Yaesha. After the cutscene, you’ll be given control inside the boss room and can make a few different choices.
- Shoot the Doe when the Ravager asks you to kill it
- Heal and save the Doe when the Ravger asks you to kill it
- Shoot the Ravager when he asks you to kill the doe and THEN let him eat the doe
- Shoot the Ravager when he asks you to kill the doe and THEN you kill the doe
#1 Shoot The Doe
Reward: Ravager’s Mark Amulet | Increases all damage dealt to BLEEDING targets by 20%. Bonus increases to 30% for targets with 50% or lower Health. |
Achievement: | “Only Human” (solo) or “Was this supposed to happen?” (co-op) |
Killing the doe is the quickest option, simply taking a few shots to put down. After you’re done you’ll get the Ravager’s Mark Amulet.
Hidden Option: Wear the amulet in front of the Ravager vs. Doe statue to your left immediately after exiting the world portal in The Forbidden Grove — this will open a route in the floor where you can pick up the Fruit of Death which leads to obtaining the Lifeless Heart.
#2 Heal and Save The Doe
Reward: Doe’s Antler (Material) | Used to craft the Red Doe Staff |
Red Doe Staff (Melee) | A magical staff that contains a healing spirit. It unleashes powerful charge attacks and can regenerate health for allies in its path. DMG: 62 | CRIT: 3% | Weak Spot: +95% | Stagger: 8% Lifeline Mod: After dealing 250 damage, the next charge attack causes the spirit of the RED DOE to stampede forward, dealing 160 damage to enemies and regenerating 10% Health to allies in its path. |
You can choose to go against the Ravager and not kill the Doe, but this will instead require you to kill him.
In this scenario, you can choose to up to the Doe and use one Relic charge to heal it. This will cause the Doe to escape, and you’ll get the Doe’s Antler material once the Ravager is dead. This is used to craft the Red Doe Staff melee weapon.
#3 Shoot the Ravager – Let Him Kill The Doe

Reward: Crimson Membrane (Material) | Used by McCabe to craft the Merciless. |
Merciless (Long Gun) | Deals high damage, causing bleeding over time. It is most effective in short to medium-range encounters, where its devastating blast, additional critical damage, and increased stagger can overwhelm foes. DMG: 13 | CRIT: 10% | Weak Spot: 100% | Stagger: 0% RPS: 8.6 | Magazine: 50 | Max Ammo 250 | Ideal Range 20-45m Bloodline Mod: Fires a devastating blast which penetrates through all enemies in its path. Deals 150 damage with a 25% Critical damage bonus, and 3x additional stagger. Bloodline damage increases by 50% for each enemy penetrated Mod Power Requirement: 350 |
Recipe | x1 Crimson Membrane, x7 Lumenite Crystal, x650 Scrap |
If you opt to attack the Ravager without healing the Doe, the Doe will die during the encounter. Once the Ravager dies, you’ll get the Crimson Membrane material. This is used to craft the Merciless Long Gun, which comes with a mod that can penetrate through multiple enemies at once.
#4 Shoot the Ravager – You Kill The Doe
Reward: Ravager’s Maw (Material) | Used by McCabe to craft the Feral Judgement. |
Feral Judgement (Melee) | Designed for rapid and vicious melee attacks. It gains empowerment after a series of hits and deals additional damage to bleeding enemies. DMG: 53 | CRIT: 13% | Weak Spot: 110% | Stagger: -15% Death Sentence Mod: Dealing Melee Damage 6 times over 10s empowers Feral Judgement. When empowered, Neutral Backdash Charge attacks apply Death Sentence. After 15s of being sentenced, the enemy will suffer 10 Phantom Strikes, dealing 25 Damage each. Deals 25% additional damage to BLEEDING enemies. |
Recipe | x1 Ravager’s Maw, x7 Lumenite Crystal, x650 Scrap |
An alternate ending with one that gives you a different reward is similar to the previous option where you opt to attack the Ravager without healing the Doe. BUT before the Ravager eats the Doe you shoot and kill it.
Once the Ravager dies, you’ll get the Ravager’s Maw material. This is used to craft the Feral Judgement a melee weapon, which comes with a mod that applies Death Sentence.
Shut Down Or Destroy The Core

When you first enter N’Erud, if you land in Seeker’s Rest, you’ll encounter a drone behind glass that asks you to find him and help him save the Dryzr. Do this by entering The Core that is located in the Sentinel’s Keep, but to do that you’ll need 3x Seeker’s Keys.
Locate them here:
- Seeker’s Rest (When you first enter the world)
- The Hatchery
- Astropath’s Respite
While looking around the area for the Seeker’s Keys, keep an eye out for an Override Pin. You’ll need that to destroy the core should you choose to. The pin is found alongside one of the side regions by the Siphoner Trait.
Once you have the keys and get into Sentinel’s Keep you’ll be going up against the Guardian of N’Erud.
#1 Shut Down The Core
Reward #1: Eidolon Shard (Material) | Used by McCabe to craft the Spectral Blade. |
Spectral Blade (Melee) | A super-heated laser sword with an infinitely sharp edge. It creates a whirlwind of slashes on neutral backdash charge attacks. DMG: 53 | CRIT: 8% | Weak Spot: +105% | Stagger: -25% Whirlwind Mod: Neutral Backdash Charge creates a Whirlwind of slashes which strike all enemies within 8m for 75 damage. |
Recipe | x1 Eidolon Shard, x7 Lumenite Crystal, x650 Scrap |
Reward #2: Segment (Sentinel’s Keep) | Quest Item |
Reward #3: Downgraded Ring (Ring) | Receive 5% less damage for each negative status the attacker is suffering from, Max 4stacks. |
If you’d like to side with the Custodian and save N’Erud and the Dryzr you’re going to need to shut down the core. Approach the console, and interact with the display – which will launch a boss fight with Sha’Hala: Spectral Guardian of N’Erud, the alternate boss of this shard of N’Erud.
After defeating the Spectral Guardian of N’Erud, the Custodian will thank you for helping, and you’ll get the Eidolon Shard, which you can take back to Ava for the melee weapon Spectral Blade which is a sweet-looking Spectral Katana.
#2 Destroy The Core

Requires: Override Pin
Achievement | “Was that supposed to happen?” |
Reward #1: Void Cinder (Material) | Used by McCabe to craft the Aphelion. |
Aphelion (Long Gun) | It inflicts high damage and is most effective at medium range, allowing you to rain down destruction on enemies with its hypercharged wide-arcing line. DMG: 62 | CRIT: 15% | Weak Spot: 100% | Stagger: -25% RPS: 2 | Magazine: 7 | Max Ammo: 49 | Ideal Range 20-65m Supernova Mod: Fires the compressed remains of a dying star. On contact or hit wit the primary fire, causes Supernova to explode for 150 FIRE Damage and 350 BURNING Damage over 10s to all targets within 4m. Striking the Supernova with Aphelion’s primary fire increases its explosion radius by 25% and damage by 50%, and spawns a massive shockwave that deals 300 FIRE damage and also applies the initial BURNING amount. |
Recipe | x1 Void Cinder, x7 Lumenite Crystal, x650 Scrap |
The Override Pin is inside an unnamed tower in Timeless Horizon and you’ll need to collect it before you enter the Keep in order to get this ending. The tower has an elevator that leads to a statue that resembles the ones that have seekers keys. There is an opening you can enter on the right side of the room. Follow the path and you will find it.
After defeating the Spectral Guardian of N’Erud, the Custodian will ask you what you’ve done as N’Erud crumbles and you’re teleported back to Ward 13. You’ll get the Void Cinder, which you can take back to Ava for the long gun Aphelion.
Consequence: If you use Override Pin on the console before fighting the boss, you won’t be able to return to N’Erud the next time you leave the world. We can assume that The Custodian just sends N’Erud into the black hole.
Kill or Be Eaten By Tal Ratha?

When you first enter N’Erud, if you land in the Forgotten Prison you’ll encounter a being behind the glass, who asks you to bring him Soul Sparks. Finding them and bringing them back, will put you face to face with the World Boss of N’Erud – Tal Ratha.
Once you’ve obtained the Soul Sparks, you need to find the other entrance to the Forgotten Prison which will allow you to enter a room with Tal Ratha. When you enter the room, Tal Ratha will talk to you about free will, and destiny – ultimately offering you two choices: To say no, and fight him, or to be eaten and “become immortal.”
Neither choice is wrong, and each has a special reward for you.
#1 Kill Tal Ratha
Reward #1: Spiced Bile (Material) | Used by McCabe to craft the Nebula. |
Nebula (Hand Gun) | Fires a stream of superhot acid gas, dealing corrosive damage over time. It is well-suited for short to medium-range combat. DMG: 12 | CRIT: N/A | Weak Spot: N/A | Stagger: -15% RPS: 8 | Magazine: 55 | Max Ammo: 220 | Ideal Range 8m Nano Swarm Mod: Unleash a swarm of Nanomachines that seek after enemies within 20 meters and repeatedly attack dealing 6 ACID damage per hit. Lasts 15 seconds. |
Recipe | x1 Spiced Bile, x7 Lumenite Crystal, x650 Scrap |
Reward #2: Shining Essence Echo | Quest Options Here |
If you choose to fight Tal Ratha, you’ll immediately have the area around you turn into an arena, and you’ll fight to the death. Killing Tal Ratha will reward you with standard rewards + Spiced Bile, which can be used to craft Nebula. You’ll also get the Shining Essence Echo which you can choose to give to The Custodian or keep for yourself.
#2 Let Tal Ratha Eat You

Reward #1: Acidic Jawbone (Material) | Used by McCabe to craft the Gas Giant. |
Gas Giant (Melee) | Dealing damage unleashes the dormant Toxic Gas within the head. When infused, Basic Attacks apply CORRODED for 5s. DMG: 74 | CRIT: 3% | Weak Spot: +95% | Stagger: 8% Dying Breath Mod: When infused, Neural Backdash Charge Attack explodes in a 3m. AOE and leaves an ACID Cloud which lasts for 15s. |
If you choose to be eaten… you’ll be eaten of course. After which, you’ll wake up and immediately fight Tal Ratha (Metaphysical). With solid dodge timing, this is a fairly easy fight in which you’ll be avoiding both the boss and projectiles.
Killing Tal Ratha (Metaphysical) will reward you with standard rewards + Acidic Jawbone, which can be used to craft Gas Giant.
Plant The Thaen Seed or Give It To The Queen
Somewhere in Yaesha in The Widow’s Court lies an Ornate Lockbox which houses the Thaen Seed. Use an Ornate Key to unlock the box. With the Thaen Seed you have two options, either to plant it in the ground or hand it over to The Eternal Empress and Queen of the Red Throne.
Edit Submitted by @MikeyKliss: There’s a hidden third option where you can choose to not open the Ornate Lockbox at all.
#1 Give The Ornate Lockbox To The Queen

Reward #1: Red Doe Sigil (Relic) | Increases Relic Healing Effectiveness by 30% which doubles when the wearer’s Health is below 50%. |
Reward #2: Ghost Shell (Mutator) | After 3 consecutive Weakspot Hits, increase the damage of the next Weakspot Hit by 20%. |
You’ll find the Thaen Seed inside the Ornate Lockbox hidden behind the illusory wall in The Widow’s Court of Yaesha. The Ornate Lockbox is opened by the Ornate Key which you’ll be able to find beside the dead Pan Gaurd. Once you locate the Guard you’ll also find a letter beside them and key urging you not to open the Ornate Lockbox.
Choose not to open the Lockbox and give the box straight to the Queen instead will net you the Red Doe Sigil. Not only does the Sigil increase healing effectiveness, but you can take it to the Red Doe and Ravager statue in The Widow’s Court. Equip the sigil and the floor will open to reveal a Rotten Thaen Fruit. Inspect the Rotten Fruit to receive the Ghost Shell Mutator.
#2 Plant The Thaen Seed

Reward: Mature Thaen Fruit (Consumable) | After consuming, upon death the hero will be revived at 30% health, and be immune to STATUS effect for 30s |
If you choose to open the Ornate Lockbox you’ll get the Thaen Seed which you can choose to give to the Queen or you can choose to grow it yourself in the small gardening plot in Ward 13. By doing so you’ll be able to grow a Thaen Tree which will bear the “Mature Thaen Fruit”. This fruit acts as a sort of auto-revive which you can consume upon death to revive you and heal you in battle. And if you let the fruit age up a bit it will enhance the fruit’s effects, maybe keep it growing for a tough boss battle. The fruit status’ are as follows by how long their left on the tree:
- Mature Thaen Fruit: Revive with 30% health. Immune to status effects for 30 seconds.
- Elder Thaen Fruit: Revive with 40% health. Immune to status effects for 30 seconds.
- Celestial Thaen Fruit: Revive with 50% health. Immune to status effects for 30 seconds.
In a game as difficult as Remnant 2 we can’t tell you how important it is to have this healing item.
#3 Give The Seed To The Queen

Reward #1: Burden of the Rebel (Ring) | Reduces Skill Cooldowns by 15% but reduces Relic Use Speed by 25%. |
Reward #2: Apeases all Pan Warriors | Pan Warriors will no longer attack you. |
Give the Thaen Seed to the Queen at the Red Throne and it will pacify all the Pan Warriors to not attack you. Additionally, she’ll give you a ring that will reduce your skill cooldown. Overall this trade-off is not as useful as the Thaen Fruit imo.
Give The Custodian The Echo, Or Not

The Custodian will ask you to face Tal Ratha to recover the Shining Essence Echo and bring it to him. The Shining Essence Echo is a material that carries the echoes of Tal’Ratha’s thoughts. It signifies the complex nature of consciousness and identity, existing beyond mere mechanical functions.
In this case, you can choose to give The Custodian the Echo or keep it for yourself.
#1 Give The Echo
Reward: Siphon Heart (Relic) | On use, grants 10% of base damage dealt as Lifesteal for 10s. |
Give The Custodian the Echo. He will give you the Relic Siphon Heart.
#2 Keep The Echo
Reward: Void Idol (Amulet) | Increases Reload Speed by 20%. Reloads only require 50% of the magazine from reserves to fully reload. |
Recipe | x1 Shining Essence Echo, x15 Hardened Iron, 1,000x Scrap |
Don’t give the Echo to the Custodian and you’ll be able to hold on to it to use at the Drzyr Replicator to create the Void Idol.
Side With Faelin or Faerin?

As you make your way through Losamn, you’ll be tasked with finding two masks. One is found in The Great Hall, and the other can be found in Malefic Palace. Once you’ve obtained both masks, there’s a large circular device in front of a massive door in the Palace Courtyard/Malefic Palace location. Slot both in and the door will open.
Using the lever, you can meet two different Fae in Losomn:
- Faelin (Bright Side of Circle / Beatific Palace)
- Faerin (Dark Side of Circle / Malefic Palace)
Now, these two don’t really like each other – and they want you to take down the other for a special reward.
#1 Side with Faelin and Kill Faerin
Achievement | “Traitor” |
Reward #1: Malded Hilt (Material) | Used by McCabe to craft the Godsplitter. |
Godsplitter (Melee) | An expertly balanced blade that is the product of advanced Fae metallurgy. DMG: 38 | CRIT: 2% | Weak Spot: +50% | Stagger: -20% Fracture Mod: Charge Attacks taint the blood of targets, causing all attacks from Godsplitter to register as Weakspot hits for 2s seconds. Duration increases with additional fragments. Max 35s. |
Recipe | x1 Melded Hilt, x7 Lumenite Crystal, x650 Scrap |
Reward #2: Faelin’s Sigil (Ring) | Melee Damage generates 10% additional Mod Power. |
By choosing to challenge Faerin, you’ll get the Traitor Achievement and the Was this Supposed to Happen Achievement if this is your first alternate World Boss, plus the “Melded Hilt” item, which lets Ava craft the Melee Weapon Godsplitter.
You’ll also get a ring, Faelin’s Sigil if you go back to Faelin and let them know you’ve killed Faerin.
#2 Side with Faerin and Kill Faelin

Achievement | “Traitor” |
Reward #1: Imposter’s Heart (Material) | Used by McCabe to craft the Deceit. |
Deceit (Long Gun) | It fires pinpoint accurate shots with two penetrating rails and is effective at medium to long range, delivering devastating blows with precision. DMG: 120 | CRIT: 15% | Weak Spot: +90% | Stagger: 5% RPS: 2 | Magazine: 6 | Max Ammo: 30 | Ideal Range 28-75m Ouroboros Mod: Conjures 3 sword fragments that encircle the wielder for 30s. Performing a Melee Attack lets loose a Fragment which traints the blood of targets, causing all attacks from Deceit to register as Weakspot hits for short period of time. Charge Melee Attacks fires all remaining Fragments at once. |
Recipe | x1 Imposter’s Heart, x7 Lumenite Crystal, x650 Scrap |
Reward #2: Faerin’s Sigil (Ring) | Critical and Weakspot Hits generate 10% additional Mod Power. |
By choosing to challenge Faerin, you’ll get the Traitor Achievement as well as the “Imposter’s Heart” item, which lets Ava craft the long gun Deceit.
You’ll also get a ring, Faerin’s Sigil if you go back to Faerin and let them know you’ve killed Faelin.
Fight The Red Prince?

In Remnant 2 The Red Prince is a boss players can encounter in the Gilded Chamber biome of Losomn. Unlike other boss fights in the game, The Red Prince gives players the chance to not fight him. This makes the battle a bit unique as you can avoid it entirely.
The Red Prince is located at the very end of the Gilded Chamber in the throne room. When you enter this room there is a cutscene and the start of an interaction. During this interaction, you have the chance to not fight The Red Prince by offering him a worthy tribute.

There are three possible choices you can make with The Red Prince:
- Sure. Here is your tribute [Give 3+ Coins] – No boss fight, but you “die”.
- Fight The Red Prince
- Sure. Here is your tribute [Give 2 or less Coins] – Boss fight.
- I am not your subject. I will not pay a tribute. – Boss fight.
#1 Here Is Your Tribute, <3 Coins
Reward #1: Bloody Steel Splinter (Material) | Used by McCabe to craft the Blood Draw. |
Blood Draw (Weapon Mod) | Shoots out razor-sharp Chain Shards which impale up to 5 targets within 15m, dealing 10 damage. On hit, chains are pulled towards the caster, dealing 250 damage split equally among enemies and applying 275 BLEEDING damage over 15s. |
Recipe | x1 Bloody Steel Splinter, x5 Lumenite Crystal, x500 Scrap |
Reward #2: Faerin’s Sigil (Ring) | Critical and Weakspot Hits generate 10% additional Mod Power. |
The worthy tribute The Red Prince requests is paid using the Crimson King Coin quest item. This quest item is dropped off Teleport Fae enemies in the biome. To ensure you can make either decision with The Red Prince you need to have at least 3 Crimson King Coins in your inventory. If you don’t have enough reload the area and go through it again.
If you pay a full tribute (3+ coins) The Red Prince will accept your offering. In place of the boss fight you are killed by The Red Prince’s shadows. You then reappear at the nearest checkpoint.
Going this route allows you to receive the Bloody Steel Splinter material. Additionally, the path to the Soulkey Tribute opens, allowing you to advance the storyline.
#2 Fight The Red Prince / Tribute, >3 Coins
Reward #1: Forlorn Fragment (Material) | Used by McCabe to craft the Firestorm. |
Firestorm (Weapon Mod) | Creates a whirling cyclone that sucks in nearby targets and applies BURNING for 10s. The centre of the cyclone deals 75 FIRE damage per second. Lasts 15s. |
Recipe | x1 Forlorn Fragment, x5 Lumenite Crystal, x500 Scrap |
Reward #2 | Opens the path to the Soulkey Tribute (Main Quest) |
If you pay a meagre tribute (2 or fewer coins) or refuse to pay the tribute, you will trigger the boss fight against The Red Prince. The Red Prince fight is fairly challenging to complete and has to be done to continue the main storyline.
When you do manage to beat The Red Prince you receive the Forlorn Fragment material among other rewards. Additionally, the path to the Soulkey Tribute opens, allowing you to advance the storyline.
Hidden Option: Defeat the Red Prince with the Assassin’s Dagger to get ‘The Crown of the Red Prince’ Helmet.

The seed choice has a third option. Turn the lockbox over to the queen without opening it. You get some ring I believe.
Hi Mikey! Thanks for this I didn’t realise just giving the Lockbox unopened was an option. I’ve updated the article with your credit.
if you kill the redprince with the assassin’s dagger (received by bringing the evidence dagger to nimue for crafting), make sure to last hit and not use its charge attack bleed. you will get his crown
