One Lonely Outpost is a colonist life and farming sim set on an alien planet. By terraforming the area, gathering materials and building the necessary structures, you’ll hopefully entice a budding community to come and settle down. New colonists mean more materials and skills, but it also means more mouths to feed. Crops can only get you so far, so in order to keep everyone well fed you’re going to have to fish up some food as well!
In this article, we’ll go through how fishing works in the game and all the fish you can find currently.

How To Fish
Just like catching bugs in One Lonely Outpost you’ll also require a separate drone for dishing. Right now the only drone you can get is called the Piranha Drone. It’s described as “A simple, beginner-friendly Fishing Drone. Designed for shallow waters, it is a cheap and efficient design.” It does say for “shallow waters” so I’m assuming different types of drones will be released later on.
Piranha Drone: 3x Aluminum Ingot, 1x Basic Circuitry, 1x Copper Ingot
To start fishing you’ll need to release your drone in a body of water which will start the fishing minigame where you essentially control the fishing drone. You can move the drone up, down or forward to catch a fish in the tank. Once you approach a fish, a quick time bar will appear for you to hit the indicated point. Do this currently to catch your fish. Sometimes the bar moves fast, and sometimes you’ll have to do this up to three times for one fish.
Do note that there is a time limit for your drone to stay underwater. So remember to resurface before the battery runs out, or you lose your drone, forcing you to buy or make a new one.
