It’s been more than a year since Horizon Forbidden West was released and this week we’re going back into the world with their new Burning Shores DLC. It’s no small patch as the Burning Shores has a whole other storyline, weapons, armour and map that’s about one-third the size of the base game.
Since Burning Shores follows after the main campaign, you’ll still have all of Aloy’s tools at your disposal. But moving forward you’ll probably need an upgrade to your weapons and armour to take on the tough new machines. There’s even an entirely new weapon type, where we finally use the Zeniths’ tech against them.
In order for you to achieve that you’ll need to trade with the Quen at their shops, for a rare new resource – Brimshine. In this guide, we’ll go through all the new weapons in Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC. How to get the weapons and which ones are the best.
Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC is out now for the PlayStation 5.

There are fourteen new weapons you can get on the Burning Shores. Some of them you’ll get just by completing the main story or other missions. While the rest will need to be traded from the Quen for Machine Shards and Brimshine.

How To Farm Brimshine

Brimshine is a new resource unique to the Burning Shores. You can use it to purchase and upgrade new weapons, armour and weaves from the Quen Tribe at Fleet’s End.
Brimshine is a rare crystal-type material that you can find while exploring the Burning Shores. It is often found off the beaten path in areas that you won’t purposely be walking through. Look for small hidden areas that will usually house a resource cache. Use your Focus to aid in your exploration as it’ll mark any Brimshine nodes nearby.
You can even set an active Job on any weapons or gear that you want to buy or upgrade. This feature will mark the rough location of any resources you need to get on the in-game map. Including Brimshine!
