Note: As more details of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet are released we’ll be updating this article with all the new Pokémon.
Sprigatito – The Grass Cat Pokémon

| Type: Grass | Ability: Overgrow |
Capricious and attention-seeking, it may sulk if it sees its Trainer giving attention to a Pokémon other than itself.
When Sprigatito kneads and rubs with its forepaws, a sweet aroma is released that can mesmerize those around it. This aroma has therapeutic qualities and makes opponents lose their will to battle. The composition of its fluffy fur is similar to that of plants, letting it create energy by absorbing sunlight. It adds moisture to its fur by grooming itself, which aids its ability to photosynthesize.
Fuecoco – The Fire Croc Pokémon

| Type: Fire | Ability: Blaze |
Fuecoco is laid-back and does things at its own pace. It loves to eat, and it will sprint toward any food it finds with a glint in its eye.
External heat is absorbed by the square scales on Fuecoco’s stomach and back, then converted into fire energy. These scales are always warm, and at times they can also grow very hot. Flickering atop Fuecoco’s head is fire energy that is leaking out from inside the Pokémon’s body. When Fuecoco gets excited, its head spouts more flames.
Quaxly – The Duckling Pokémon

| Type: Water | Ability: Torrent |
This serious-mannered Pokémon will follow in its Trainer’s wake. It’s tidy, and it especially dislikes getting its head dirty.
Its body is always glossy because the gel secreted by its feathers repels water and grime. The coif on its head is slicked back using a rich, moist cream, and it becomes unkempt when dry. It has strong legs and is able to swim without difficulty even in places with strong currents. In battle, it kicks its opponents swiftly and repeatedly.
Armarouge – The Fire Warrior Pokémon

| Type: Fire/Psychic | Ability: Flash Fire |
Armarouge’s set of armour belonged to a distinguished warrior and is the source of the energy used for its Psychic-type moves. It also uses the psychic capabilities of this armour to control the fire energy within its body and unleash attacks.
Armarouge believes in a fair fight and will challenge an opponent head-on no matter how much stronger that opponent is. It specializes in using its sturdy armour to bolster its defences and take down enemies with its high firepower.
Bellibolt – The EleFrog Pokémon

| Type: Electric | Ability: Electromorphosis / Static |
Bellibolt has a Belly-Button Dynamo that produces a huge amount of electricity. They expand and contract their elastic body to generate electricity in an organ that looks like a belly button. The huge amount of electricity generated this way is then discharged from the two bumps on either side of its head that resemble eyeballs.
Its actual eyes are adorably small and round, so when it tries to be intimidating, it puts the eyelike bumps to good use. It is difficult to train Bellibolt to initiate a battle without it being attacked first. After the sun sets, you can hear strange noises coming from Bellibolt’s habitat. This noise is not Bellibolt’s cries, but a sound emitting from their stomachs–it is known that this sound signals that they are hungry.
Cetitan – The Terra Whale Pokémon

| Type: Ice | Ability: Thick Fat / Slush Rush |
Cetitan needs to have tough muscles to be able to support their immense bodies, and physical attacks using their bodies have incredible power. They also migrate around the snowy regions, protected by a thick layer of subcutaneous fat.
A Cetitan has five hard horns. Among them, the horn on the upper jaw is able to gather ice energy, making the surrounding temperature extremely low and freezing the area around the Pokémon.
Ceruledge – The Fire Blades Pokémon

| Type: Fire/Ghost | Ability: Bitter Blade |
Ceruledge dons an old set of armour steeped in grudges and wields blades made of fire and ghost energy. In battle, these blades transform into great swords to increase Ceruledge’s power. Cuts from these great swords leave wounds from which life energy will flow.
Ceruledge prefers close-quarters combat and isn’t above using tactics such as sneak attacks and surprise attacks to win a battle. It uses its quick movements to capitalize on its opponent’s blind spots, then closes the distance to slash its opponent with its large blades.
Cyclizar – The Mount Pokémon

| Type: Dragon/Normal | Ability: Shed Skin |
Cyclizar can sprint at over 70 mph while carrying a human. Its extremely hard head and thick, lithe tail are not only useful for maintaining balance and absorbing shocks while sprinting—they also provide effective ways to attack during battles.
This Pokémon has lived in many households in the Paldea region since ancient times. It has a mild disposition, and people riding Cyclizar are a very common sight. It appears Cyclizar don’t mind being ridden because the warmth of a rider helps stave off the cold.
Farigiraf – Long Neck Pokémon

| Type: Normal/Psychic | Ability: Cud Chew / Armor Tail | Evolution: From Girafarig
As a result of its Evolution, the head of its main body and the head from its tail has become one. Both of Farigiraf’s brains are connected through thick nerves, increasing their psychic energy, and they can emit psychic waves from the antennae on its head. It’s always mindful of its surroundings, and while it can detect danger in an instant, there are times when its body cannot react as fast as its two brains can think.
The thick, sturdy head from its tail provides good defence for the head of the main body. When the head from its tail closes its mouth, Farigiraf whips its long neck around in an attack that deals brutal physical damage. The force of this attack is said to be able to pulverize stone and crush steel beams.
Fidough – The Puppy Pokémon

| Type: Fairy | Ability: Own Tempo |
Fidough’s moist, smooth skin has elastic qualities and is both firm and soft at the same time. When these Pokémon become excited, they intimidate their opponents by puffing up their bodies to appear bigger.
Fidough ferments things in its vicinity using the yeast in its breath. Said yeast is useful for cooking, so this Pokémon has been protected by people since long ago.
Gimmighoul – The Coin Chest Pokémon
.png/BROK/resize/1200x1200%3E/format/jpg/quality/70/Screenshot-2022-11-06-at-18.39.06-(2).png)
| Type: Ghost | Ability: Rattled |
These Gimmighoul hides inside sturdy treasure chests. While this provides them with a solid defence, the treasure chest’s weight causes Gimmighoul to move slowly, making travel difficult. It is not uncommon for Chest Form Gimmighoul to be mistaken for an antique and taken home or sold to an antique store.
When Gimmighoul senses a person or Pokémon drawing near, it ambushes them. It then uses ghost energy to control its target, forcing them to collect coins. Because it often hides in warehouses, shop corners, and other places people and Pokémon don’t frequent, it tends to keep persistent control of those it does manage to encounter.
Greavard – Ghost Dog Pokémon

| Type: Ghost | Ability: Pickup |
Normally, Greavard barely moves, resting peacefully underground. It pokes the topmost part of its head above ground and lights an eerie glow at its tip, then waits for someone to approach. When a person draws near, Greavard jumps out of the ground while letting out a spooky cry that would startle most unsuspecting people. However, it doesn’t appear to do this with ill intent.
Greavard has such a friendly and affectionate personality that paying it even the slightest bit of attention will make it so overjoyed that it will follow you wherever you go. Of all the Pokémon residing in the Paldea region, it is known to be especially easy to befriend.
However, Greavard will slowly and inadvertently absorb the life force of those around it, so it’s best not to play with it too much.
Grafaiai – The Toxic Monkey Pokémon

| Type: Poison/Normal | Ability: Unburden / Poison Touch |
Grafaiai is a moody Pokémon with a fastidious disposition. It doesn’t form packs, preferring to roam alone. It’s constantly caught up in territorial struggles with other Pokémon.
Grafaiai is nocturnal. Once the sun sets, it licks its hands and fingers to cover them in poison, then uses them to draw patterns on the trees in its territory. The poisonous saliva it uses to paint paralyzes Bug Pokémon, which are drawn to the saliva’s sweet, fragrant scent. When dawn draws near, Grafaiai goes to collect any incapacitated prey.
Klawf – The Ambush Pokémon

| Type: Rock | Ability: Anger Shell/Shell Armor |
Klawf’s claws can hold onto things very tightly, not letting prey go once within its grasp. It uses one claw to hold its opponent in place while using the other to break its guard and hit it where it hurts. Even if a Klawf loses a claw in battle or elsewhere, it will grow back after a while. In certain parts of the Paldea region, Klawf claws are considered a valuable cooking ingredient.
Klawf can rotate its protruding eyeballs to see everything around it, eliminating all blind spots. It latches upside down onto cliffs to ambush its prey from above. However, Klawf eventually gets dizzy from the blood rushing to its head, so it can’t stay upside down too long.
Lechonk – The Hog Pokémon

| Type: Normal | Ability: Aroma Veil / Gluttony |
Lechonk uses its sense of smell to find and eat only the most fragrant wild grasses and the richest Berries. As a result of its dining habits, it has come to radiate an aroma resembling herbs that bug Pokémon dislike. If attacked by an opponent and startled, it will charge forward in a panic. It may appear fat at first glance, but in reality, the Pokémon’s body is mostly muscle built by constantly walking around in search of food.
Pawmi – The Mouse Pokémon

| Type: Electric | Ability: Static / Natural Cure |
Another electric mouse Pokémon? How many does that make it in the Pokémon franchise? Pikachu would never. But just like the other famous electric rodent Pawmi has squishy electric cheek sacs but now discharges electricity from its paws. It generates electricity by rubbing its cheeks, then it shocks its opponents by touching them with the pads on its forepaws. Kind of like a static transfer.
The fur that covers its body is good insulation against the cold and serves the purpose of storing electricity. When it feels uneasy, this cautious Pokémon will begin rubbing its cheeks, preparing itself to discharge an electric shock.
Paldean Wooper – The Poison Fish Pokémon

| Type: Poison/Ground | Ability: Poison Point / Water Absorb |
In ancient times, Wooper lived underwater in the Paldea region. But it seems after losing in a struggle for territory, they began living in bogs on land. To keep from drying out while living on land, they began to cover their bodies with a poisonous film.
These Wooper’s gills have hardened thanks to living on the land for so long. Their bodies are heavy and they move slowly, but they can protect themselves by shooting powerful poisonous liquid from their gills. You may see poisoned Pokémon in areas where these Wooper live.
Smoliv – The Olive Pokémon

| Type: Grass/Normal | Ability: Early Bird |
‘Smoliv’ aka the Small Olive. Okay, that’s not in the official description but it really should be!
The oil that comes out of its head has a very strong bitter taste, and it is not suitable for consumption. When startled or attacked, Smoliv will shoot this oil out, slowing its opponent down. It will then seize that moment to run away. In the fruit on its head, Smoliv stores oil made from nutrients it gathers through photosynthesis. As a result, it can go for a week without eating or drinking. It prefers dry and sunny climates, and it seems to spend its days sunbathing.
Wiglett – The Garden Eel Pokémon

| Type: Water | Ability: Gooey/Rattled |
Wiglett may look like Diglett, but it’s actually a completely different species of Pokémon.
Boasting an exceptional sense of smell, Wiglett is able to pick up scents from over 60 feet away. It has a skittish disposition and is constantly cautious of its surroundings. When it notices the scent of other Pokémon, Wiglett burrows into the sand to conceal itself.
Wiglett pokes a part of its body out of the sand to feed in the ocean. It’s still unclear what the rest of its body hidden in the sand is like or how long it might be.
Koraidon & Miraidon

Koraidon & Miraidon are the Legendary Pokémon you can meet in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet respectively. These two Pokémon are said to have powers that far surpass those of other Pokémon, but details about Koraidon and Miraidon are still shrouded in mystery.
