We’ve been talking on the site and on our socials about spooky season. And while spooky games are fun to play I also have a soft spot for seasonal events and how the games interpret the holidays. None do events as well as Destiny 2, and for Halloween, they go all out with Festival of the Lost 2022.
This year, like previous years Festival of the Lost, will be free to play from October 18th to November 8th 2022. If you’re not familiar with how seasonal events work in Destiny 2, you’ll receive an Event Card which you can complete for some great rewards. You’ll be able to earn Triumphs in Festival of the Lost, and if you manage to earn enough of them, that’ll put you halfway towards earning the Reveler title.
How To Begin Festival Of The Lost 2022
Destiny 2’s Halloween 2022 event, The Festival of the Lost, returns on October 18, 2022, and ends on November 8, 2022.

Like last year’s event, you’ll need to visit Haunted Lost Sectors to deal with the paranormal activity within them. The spookiness has spread to a new location in the EDZ, and as long as you have a Festival mask equipped, you’ll be able to earn candy from these spooky monsters and trade that delicious currency for prizes from Eva in the Tower. As part of the celebrations this year, there’ll be some new masks to collect that include a paper-mache replica of Savathun and even a cardboard cutout of Eiksni vendor Spider.
Or to cut a long story short, collect candy from enemies and grind to earn some cool Halloween prizes from Eva.

The idea is that by running Strikes, Crucible matches, Gambit matches, seasonal activities, and basically anything, you’ll earn Spectral Pages — that is, as long as you’re wearing the Halloween mask Eva Levante gives you at the start of the event. Once you have some Spectral Pages, you’ll need to jump into the Haunted Lost Sectors activity to transform them.

Back in the Tower, you can turn in your Manifested Pages to the super creepy Book of the Forgotten, which will net you some new lore and goodies.
Festival of the Lost 2022 Rewards
Mech Armour

As with last year, Bungie held a vote to determine the themed armour set that’ll be up for grabs with the Festival of the Lost 2022, and Team Mech (a Gundam-esque armour) won.
Three brand-new Mech armor sets are available for purchase during the 2022 Festival of the Lost event for Destiny 2. These armour sets will be available to earn with Brightdust or to purchase with Silver.

This armour is unfortunately exclusive to the Eververse store and will run you about $15 per set (or roughly $45 bucks if you want the set for each of the game’s three classes). However, you can also purchase each set for 6,000 Bright Dust, the game’s non-purchasable premium currency. That’s quite a bit of Dust, but if you’ve been saving all season, you can theoretically get the mech armour for free.
Mechabre Sniper Rifle
The new “Mechabre Sniper Rifle” weapon can be earned for free during the Festival of the Lost 2022.
