The Day Before by FNTASTIC
Release Date: 1st March 2023
The Day Before is a game that I’m personally excited for and while it still has the great survival and open world exploration of ARK, there are now zombies instead of dinosaurs. While this game may look more like The Last of Us or The Division, the developers have promised an extremely challenging difficulty level.
The MMO will have you team up with friends and random players to traverse the open-world environment of deadly post-apocalyptic America. Resources are scarce and if the flesh-hungry infected don’t kill you then you can bet some other survivals will.
looking for useful items and defending yourself from enemies.

Lightyear Frontier by FRAME BREAK
Release Date: Spring 2023
Shown at this year’s Microsoft & Bethesda Games Showcase, Lightyear Frontier is billed as more of a farming sim than a survival one. But if you’re interested in living together with your friends in online co-op with a colourful world to explore then you’ll be happy to see this one!
Lightyear Frontier at its core is a game about farming, but there are a couple of unique mechanics that warrnt its place on this list. Firstly, there’s a mysterious narrative that will be full of “twists and turns”. Secondly the game is a little less manual than most of the other survival games on this list. Because this time you have a mech to play around in. Use it to blast seeds, gather materials, drill up and vacuum resources.
If your ARK: Survival Evolved crew are looking for something a bit more chill then this game might be right up their alley!

Smalland by Merge Games
Release Date: TBA
An ARK: Survival Evolved game from a different perspective, literally. Smallland is a multiplayer survival game that takes place in your own backyard, which doesn’t sound interesting until you realise you’re about the size of a small bee.
You’re literally the bottom of the food chain in Smalland, so in order to survive you’ll need to craft weapons, armour and build an encampment to survive. Don’t let the game’s cute size fool you because survival here is brutal. From intense weather conditions to just an alarming amount of spiders, rats, birds and more that are out to eat you. Fortunately, there is an abundance of resources for you to use to survive!
