Get Excited For Hot Gamer Summer

I don’t know where you are in the world but it’s literally so hot right now. So what to do? Stay at home crank up the AC and turn on the fan to play some of these upcoming game releases.

Silt

Release Date: June 1st 2022
Platforms: PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC – Steam

This aquatic horror game is fairly Limbo-esque but looks to play decidedly individually from its artistic inspiration. Silt is a surreal ocean exploration game. Alone in an underwater abyss, you are a diver searching the deep to uncover long-forgotten mysteries. Possess the creatures around you to solve puzzles and travel further into the darkness.

Nature has evolved into bizarre forms. Discover strange organisms, unexplored ruins and ancient machinery hidden beneath the water’s surface. Survive encounters with giant deep-sea goliaths. Harness their power to awaken a long-dormant force at the centre of the abyss.

DIABLO IMMORTAL

Release Date: June 2nd 2022
Platforms: PC, Android, iOS

Diablo Immortal launched somewhat controversially at 2018’s Blizzcon. But now that the multiplayer online action RPG is coming here on mobile. Not gonna lie, I’m intrigued to check it out.

Diablo Immortal‘s story takes place in between Diablo II and Diablo III, about 5 years after 2. The story will explore what happened after the Worldstone was destroyed and how Diablo III came to be. While it may be primarily a mobile game, for the most part, this is going to be the same Diablo you already know and love. Albeit with controls designed to make the most out of a phone touchscreen rather than a mouse or controller.

The Quarry

Another horror game this time it’s season thematic as The Quarry takes place at summer camp. The last day of summer camp, the teenage counselors of Hackett’s Quarry throw a party to celebrate. But predictably things quickly take a turn for the worse.

Hunted by blood-drenched locals and something far more sinister, the teens’ party plans unravel into an unpredictable night of horror. Play as each of the nine camp counselors in a thrilling cinematic tale, where every decision shapes your unique story from a tangled web of possibilities. Any character can be the star of the show—or die before daylight comes.

CUPHEAD: THE DELICIOUS LAST COURSE

Release Date: June 30th 2022
Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC

Not quite a new game but a DLC, but then again it’s a DLC for Cuphead which makes this extremely hot.

Cuphead was the indie world’s darling of 2017, complete with old-school Steamboat Mickey type cartoons. That while cute ended up being deceptively difficult. It revolves around a brutal boss gauntlet that pits you, a sentient cup, against ferocious monsters who relentlessly batter you until you master the game.

In Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course vrothers Cuphead and Mugman are joined by the clever, adventurous Ms. Chalice. Together they head for a rollicking adventure on the previously undiscovered Inkwell Isle. With the aid of new weapons, magical charms, and Ms. Chalice’s unique abilities, players will take on a new cast of fearsome, larger than life bosses to assist the jolly Chef Saltbaker in Cuphead’s final challenging quest!

Wayward Strand

Release Date: June 30th 2022
Platforms: PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series, Xbox One Nintendo Switch, PC – Steam, Mac

Wayward Strand is a heartfelt story, told in a curious way. It’s a touching, empathetic narrative game set aboard an airborne hospital in 1970s Australia. In Wayward Strand you play as Casey Beaumaris, a teenage girl visiting the hospital for the first time. Over the course of three days, she will explore the history of the ship, the lives of its inhabitants, and their relationships with one another.

The hospital’s residents are an eclectic cast of characters. They do as they wish, completely independent of the player character. During the three days Casey spends on the ship, the characters around her live out their own stories – stories which she can investigate. Choose which story to be a part of by following people, having conversations, and exploring the hospital.

As Casey explores the airship and its many intertwined stories, she will discover that the effect of her actions can reverberate far beyond her expectations. Every playthrough gives you the opportunity to discover something you didn’t see previously.

XENOBLADE CHRONICLES 3

Release Date: July 29th 2022
Platform: Nintendo Switch

It’s been nearly five years since the launch of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. So to say the fanbase is frothing at the mouth is putting it mildly.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 for fans of the original series looks like it’s going to be quite different. The story takes place in Aionios, where the nations of Keves and Agnus are at war. You’ll play as trios from both countries and can have up to seven party members. Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s story will be taking place in the far future from its predecessor but will feature the characters from the first two games. At least the ones that are likely to be alive at this point.

Two Point Campus

Release Date: August 9th 2022
Platform: PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC – Steam

From the creators of Two Point Hospital come Two Point Campus a university management sim. It’s time to spin academia on its head! Got a yearning for learning? Or just keen to build an educational masterpiece? Campus is jam-packed with new creative tools to help you build the university of your dreams.

But, of course, it wouldn’t be a Two Point game without a twist.

Rather than typical academic fare, students in Two Point County enjoy a range of wild and wonderful courses: from Knight School (hey, we all have to learn jousting at some point in our lives), to the salivatory Gastronomy, where your students will build mouth-watering concoctions like giant pizzas and enormous pies.

Saints Row

Release Date: August 23rd 2022
Platform: PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, PC – Epic Games

Last but not least is Saints Row, the eagerly awaited reboot of a series that has long been in need of one.

It’s been nine years since since the last Saints Row game and the developers Voilition have promised us a “a reboot like no one has ever done a reboot before”. . I don’t know what that means, but it’s safe to say the original fanbase aren’t too happy.

As the future Boss, with Neenah, Kevin, and Eli by your side, you’ll form The Saints – and take on Los Panteros, The Idols, and Marshall as you build your empire across the streets of Santo Ileso and battle for control of the city.

Ultimately Saints Row is the story of a start-up company, it’s just that the business The Saints are in happens to be crime.
