It’s almost time to say goodbye to Ayaka and hello to another pair of Inazuma heroes coming to Genshin Impact. Yoimiya and Sayu will be coming in a new banner on August 10th.
Yoimiya is a new 5-Star pyro archer. She’s a great damage dealer. With her Burst making the fireworks genius a kind of superpowered Amber. However, her attacks and elemental abilities are more focused on single target damage. Homing Pyro arrows and the potential for triggering multiple explosions during a fight mean Yoimiya is a strong choice for dealing with mobs up close or at a distance.
Let’s dive into Yoimiya’s character and abilities to see if she’s a good match for your team!
Who Is Yoimiya In Genshin Impact?
Fireworks are the highlight of the festival, and Yoimiya is Inazuma’s best pyrotechnician. Every display she planned turns out fabulously.
Kamisato Ayaka
Yoimiya is the owner of Nagohanhara Fireworks, known as the “Queen of the Summer Festival.” She is a household name in Inazuma. She’s developed a reputation both for her brilliance firework displays and joyful personality. A talented pyrotechnician. Various celebrations held in Inazuma City every year all have elaborate firework displays created by Yoimiya. She possesses exuberant creativity and passion for firework displays that always leave people pleasantly surprised.
Yoimiya has a childlike innocence and is often found playing simple yet timeless games with children or accompanying them to find shiny trinkets and toys. The purity of children brings her unparalleled joy. She also enjoys social interaction and seizes every opportunity to talk to others. She appears to have endless anecdotes and ideas to be shared.
Character Banner: Tapestry of Golden Flames
Yoimiya is the spotlight character in this character banner, and she’s joined by the new four-star character Sayu. Like the other character banners in Genshin impact during this time Yoimiya will receive a huge drop-rate boost. Besides Sayu she’ll be arriving with Diona and Xinyan. Excellent supports especially at high constellations where they can provide buffs and debuffs that will increase the DMG of your Main DPS.
For those of you that haven’t figured out the math of Genshin Impact‘s gacha system yet, 5-star character drop rates are a 0.6% chance. But after 89 attempts you’re guaranteed a 5-star character. If you wish on that particular character’s banner it will increase their rate by 50%. This means, at most, you’ll need 180 wishes to get Ayaka.

Is Yoimiya Worth Pulling?
Yoimiya’s attack power rivals Diluc’s and Ganyu’s. With her Burst makes the fireworks genius a kind of superpowered Amber. Homing Pyro arrows and the potential for triggering multiple explosions during a fight mean Yoimiya is a strong choice for dealing with mobs up close or at a distance. Her main drawback is that, unlike Ayaka or even Sayu, Yoimiya is focused on combat alone and has no special exploration or healing potential.
If you already have a fire DPS like Diluc, Hutao or Klee you may not really need Yoimiya in your roster. But if your Genshin Impact team lacks a good Pyro character, Yoimiya might fill that spot. If not, maybe save your Primogems for the 2.1 banners that you can look at over here. If you’re looking for some more help our additional guides should help get you started!
