Genshin Impact has been hitting it out of the park with their free to play action RPG. Since its release last year, the developer MiHoyo has pledged to release updates every six weeks. As you can tell from our Genshin Impact articles we’ve been following along. These updates include new weapons, quests, map areas and of course new characters. Utilising the game’s gacha system two-character banners are released at every update with a potentially new 5-Star character.
Genshin Impact’s v1.6 update introduces Kazuha a five-star Anemo Sword character. Based on his abilities list it looks like you’ll be able to centre him as your new primary DPS character. If you want to. He is scheduled to be officially released on June 29th/30th and if you’re looking to build an Anemo team you’re going to want to save those wishes now. Here’s a breakdown of his skills, build and everything you want to know about Kazuha.
Who Is Kaedehara Kazuha?
A wandering samurai from Inazuma who is currently with Liyue’s Crux Fleet. A gentle and carefree soul whose heart hides a great many burdens from the past.Genshin Impact, MiHoyo
It’s hard to say if weathering life’s storms have eroded any sharp edges he once had or his reserved nature keeps them hidden from view.
A wandering samurai from Inazuma with a modest and gentle personality.
Beneath a youthful and carefree demeanor lies a heart that hides a great many burdens from the past. Seemingly easygoing, Kazuha has his own code of conduct.
Kazuha leads a wandering life, setting out on his journey in the day, and sleeps with the sky as his blanket and earth as his bed in the night. Wealth has never been his pursuit, and regardless of summer or winter, what he seeks has always been true peace in his heart. Despite the wilderness being his home, he never worries about the impending rain or storm. It is as if rainstorms are afraid of him, because they do not dare to cross his path.
Kazuha’s Character Banner – Scarlet Leaves Pursue Wild Waves
The characters below are rumoured to be included at Kazuha’s Banner. Take this as a grain of salt as these characters are still not yet confirmed. Are Rosaria, Bennett and Razor.
Kazuha Combat Info
Kazuha depends heavily on his weapons and artefacts to provide him with damage bonuses as he doesn’t get these from his ascension. As a Sword character, Kazuha’s Normal Attack will be a very fast slashing attack. Although the attack is described as a series of five slashes, the fifth one actually consists of a quick flurry of three slashes.
Kazuha receives a huge elemental damage bonus from his ultimate when it combines with another element. Dealing additional elemental damage whenever he causes a swirl reaction. So he’s best played with Burst characters who can provide this, like Chongyun or Hu Tao. You should be focusing on building elemental damage, as it scales with elemental mastery.
Elemental Skill & Burst
| Weapon: Sword | Role: Primary DPS | Skill: Elemental Vision |
|Garyu Bladework||Normal / Charged Attack||Normal Attack: Perform up to five rapid strikes.|
Charged Attack: Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash two rapid sword strikes.
|Chihayaburu||Elemental Skill||Kazuha unleashes a whirlwind that pulls objects and opponents towards him before launching opponents up. Deals Anemo DMG and lifts Kazuha into the air.|
While Kazuha is in mid-air from Chihayaburu, he can unleash a particularly powerful Plunging Attack, Midare Ranzan. His Plunging Attack Damage is converted to Anemo DMG and will create a miniature wind tunnel that pulls nearby objects and opponents in. This is useful for crowd control.
The tap effect of Kazuha’s Elemental Skill can also be used mid-air. If you hold his Elemental Skill longer, it charges up to unleash greater Anemo DMG over a larger AoE.
|Manyou No Ittou||Elemental Burst||A powerful slash that deals Anemo DMG in a large AoE. His blade’s passage will leave behind a field named “Autumn Whirlwind” which will deal AoE Anemo DMG at set intervals to opponents within in.|
As usual for an Anemo character, Kazuha’s Elemental Burst can absorb Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, and Electro damage and then convert this to additional damage of that same Elemental type.
|Poetics of Fuubutsu||Passive Talent (1st Acension)||After triggering a Swirl reaction, allies get a small Elemental damage bonus based on Kazuha’s Elemental Mastery.|
|Soumon Swordmanship||Passive Talent (4th Acension)||Kazuha’s Elemental Skill will absorb Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro damage and convert this to extra plunging damage upon using the Midare Ranzan plunge attack.|
|Cloud Strider||Passive Talent||Decreases sprinting Stamina consumption for his party members.|
Best Weapons & Artifacts For Kazuha
There are a couple of weapons available to Kazuha that are great for maximising his Elemental Mastery. As well as to increase his Swirl reaction damage that will make good use of his passive abilities. Depending as well on what you can get your hands on, here are a couple of options.
Viridescent Venerer (Artifact Set)
Kazuha is an Anemo DPS character that is focusing on building Elemental Mastery so the best Artifact set for him has to be the Viridescent Venerer. This 5 piece set can be obtained from Valley of Remembrance. With 2-Pieces it will increase your Anemo DMG Bonus by +15%. And with 4-Pieces it increases Swirl DMG by 60%. Decreases opponent’s Elemental RES to the element infused in the Swirl by 40% for 10s. An excellent boost for Kazuha’s elemental abilities.
Freedom-Sworn Sword ★★★★★
|Bonus Effect||Elemental Mastery + 43|
|Skill||DMG + 10%|
• If the character wielding this sword triggers an Elemental Reaction, they will gain a Sigil of Rebellion (can happen once every 0.5 seconds and can trigger even if that character is not on the field).
Skyward Blade ★★★★★
|Bonus Effect||Energy Recharge + 12%|
|Skill||CRIT Rate + 4%|
• Gains Skypiercing Might upon using Elemental Burst. Increases Movement SPD by 10%, increases ATK SPD by 10%, and increases the DMG of Normal and Charged Attack hits by 20% for 12s.
SACRIFICIAL SWORD ★★★★
|Bonus Effect||Energy Recharge + 13.3%|
• After damaging an opponent with an Elemental Skill, the skill has a 40% chance to end its own CD.
• Can only occur once every 30s.
Iron Sting ★★★★
|Bonus Effect||Elemental Mastery + 36|
• Dealing Elemental DMG increases all DMG by 6% for 6s. Max 2 stacks. Can occur once every 1s
Best Team For Kazuha
Kazuha would do well together in a team with any Pyro, Hydro, Electro, and Cryo Elemental Reaction characters. If you’re just starting out, Lisa would be a great Kazuha ally. Four star characters like Xingqiu, Xiangling, or Chongyun are perfect for his Swirl reactions as well. Remember that these characters’ Elemental abilities can continue without their presence on the battlefield, which is a huge plus.
