NieR Replicant Ver.1.22 is Square Enix’s remake-remaster hybrid of the original Nier title that released in 2010. This beloved RPG is set in a distant future and tells the story of a young man looking to save his sister Yonah from the Black Scrawl disease, and serves as a prequel to the critically-acclaimed Nier: Automata. Replicant improves on the original with enhanced visuals, full voice-overs, and a more fluid combat experience, but also adds brand-new content as well. In a word endings.
NieR Replicant Ver.1.22 five endings are lettered and are entitled Ending A, B, C, D and E. Ending A is the standard ending that players will get for beating the game the first time, but all of the other ones have special requirements. Ending E is also exclusive to this Ver.1.22 update.
While Ending A is a satisfying conclusion to the game, it isn’t technically the true ending. If players want to see all five of the game’s different endings and piece together what really happened, you’re going to need to put in some time to play through the game several times. Thankfully, things change each time, meaning it shouldn’t get too stale. The best way to see all five endings is to play through them in order, using different save files can help cut down on the time this will take.
We’ll note when to make your save files. This goes without saying but watch out for spoilers going forward.

Ending A – Call Her Back

As previously mentioned, getting Ending A simply requires players to complete the game the first time. While there are no special requirements to getting this, it is very important that players collect every weapon from the first half of the game. After reaching part 2, the only way to return to part 1 is by starting an entirely new save file, and these weapons will come in handy later.
Subsequent reloads of this save file will start you at the halfway point of the game.
Ending B – Lingering Memories

After beating the game once and seeing Ending A, reload the same save file and replay the second half of the game. Kaine will now be playable afterwards in this second run. Play through the game again to watch new cutscenes and story details that give more of a backstory to Kaine and Emil.
Defeating the boss will get you Ending B.
Ending C – Thank You

Reload your Ending B save file. This will start you at the halfway point again. This time, though, make sure you collect any of the remaining 33 weapons.
Playing through for this ending there won’t be anything new in terms of cutscenes. But before the new final boss encounter, create a duplicate save file at the Lost Ruin: Rooftop, a room before the point of no return.
After the final boss fight, you’ll face another, final-er boss. When you get an option, choose to stab them through the heart to get Ending C. It’s important to choose this option first before going through Ending D.
Ending D – Something Very Special

Reload the save file you created before Ending C and fight the boss again. But this time, choose to spare their life and make the boss human again. This triggers Ending D and will delete all of the player’s save files. Back up any important save files externally before choosing this option.
Nier Replicant Ver.1.22 Special Ending E
After Ending D deletes your save file, start a new game with a different name. You’ll play normally until the fight against the huge shade in The Aerie where you recruit Kaine. At this point, she will become the playable character and a brand new story will unfold.
