It’s been a somewhat quiet-ish year for games this 2021, but that’s all about to change come May. Yes, we’ve had some great new titles like Cozy Grove, Outriders and It Takes Two. But nothing that’s really hitting those ‘Game of the Year vibes’. A couple of the games this month
Resident Evil Village by Capcom – May 7th
Resident Evil 8 or VIII aka Resident Evil Village is arguably the biggest game coming out this month.
Set after the events of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, we follow Ethan Winters – the survivor of the previous game. The last we saw of Ethan Winters and his wife Mia, they were rescued by Chris Redfield alongside the company of Blue Umbrella. In Resident Evil Village he’s been happily living with his wife Mia that is until Chris Redfield kidnaps his daughter Rosemary. Ethan then needs to rescue his daughter in the Village.
The Village is a dark and mysterious place with all sorts of monsters. In the foreground lies Dimitriscu Castle and the mysterious Mother Miranda. What could this all do with his daughter? Read our ‘Everything We Know about Resident Evil Village’ here.

Hood: Outlaws & Legends by Sumo Newcastle – May 10th
Hood: Outlaws & Legends is an online multiplayer twist on the classic Robin Hood legend, with players competing with each other to complete a heist.
In a violent, medieval world, two rival gangs outsteal each other in an intense PvPvE multiplayer heist. With unique skills and abilities of each character, from moving in stealth to stealing treasures unseen or just straight up brutal combat. You and your team of four will be out to score the perfect heist.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition by BioWare – May 14th
The Mass Effect: Legendary Edition includes the remastered version of the first three Mass Effect games as well as all of the 40+ DLCs. This includes all the promotional weapons, armour and packs. Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 is coming to you in 4K Ultra HD in the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. Expect some major quality of life improvements, especially in regards to the first Mass Effect game. Yay.
If you’ve never played any of the Mass Effect series this is as good a place as any to start. Play as Commander Shepard, the one person is all that stands between humanity and its greatest threat. Experience an amazingly rich and detailed universe where your decisions have profound consequences on the action and the outcome. Famicon Detective Club by Tose, 株式会社MAGES – May 14th
Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind are coming to the Nintendo Switch. We saw this announcement in February’s Nintendo Direct.
These two detective games were originally released for the Famicom Disk System in the late ‘80s and let players explore mysteries with text-based commands. In The Missing Heir, players will solve a murder mystery in a haunted village involving a wealthy family, all while dealing with their own amnesia. Meanwhile, in The Girl Who Stands Behind, players will head to a Japanese school to investigate a supernatural rumour that surrounds the mysterious death of a student.

Never Yield by Aerial_Knight – May 19th
Survive a futuristic Tokyo style Detroit in this 3D runner Never Yield. Follow the story of Wally who has uncovered the evidence that can change the city forever. Expose the truth and try to uncover the mystery of what happened to them. Hopefully, you’re fast enough to outrun your enemies.
Run, Jump, Slide or “Dash” for acrobatic variants leading to dope combinations and avoid the challenges that await. Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield is built for players who love to speedrun games while also being an experience that casual players will enjoy as well. This soundtrack Never Yield is being done by “Danime-Sama” a Detroit artist with vocals from artists from all over the world.
