Hitman 3 – Best Weapons And Loadout Guide

In Hitman 3 you may be a master assassin, but a workman is nothing without his tools. Agent 47 relies on an inventory of murderous utensils in order to eliminate his targets. But what are the top items in the title, and which should be part of your loadout before you begin a level? Well in this guide we list out the best-suggested items, gear and equipment that you’re going to need to. Broken up by your objectives, approach and personal playstyle.

Not every weapon is going to be useful, as some are better in specific situations. There are also a variety of ways for you to tackle each mission and whether you want to gun sling your way through the game, or stealthy complete the task, you can.

Coin

Type: Distraction
How To Unlock: Available as a default tool when you start the game

While it’s one of the least extravagant items you’ll find on this list, the humble Coin is unquestionably one of the most useful items in the Hitman series. Whether you need to get a person’s attention to open a pathway when trespassing or simply need to switch your disguise, Coins are an effective method of attracting attention and getting NPCs into the position you want them to be so you can orchestrate your mission.

It’s worth noting, however, that if you know where to look you can often find Coins in every level, which means you don’t always need to use a loadout slot on these if you’re in need of other equipment.

Lockpick

Type: Tool
How To Unlock: ICA Facility – Complete all three Mission Stories
Miami – Reach Mastery Level 7
Dartmoor – Reach Mastery Level 2

Much like the Coin, the Lockpick is likely to be a staple of your loadout, allowing you to easily infiltrate previously inaccessible areas. This is an essential item for the first run of a new location. Eliminate the time spent searching for keys on the map and stealing keys from unconscious guards. It is illegal to use picking, so make sure no one is watching during the act. The tool is silent and effective at getting you inside buildings as long as the coast is clear.

You could also consider the ICA Titanium Crowbar, as this doubles as both a lockpick and non-lethal melee weapon.

ICA Briefcase

Type: Container
How To Unlock: Miami – Complete The Finish Line mission
Dubai – Reach Mastery Level 7

The ICA Briefcase, or its various other permutations, effectively allows you to smuggle illegal items like sniper rifles into a location undetected. While you will need to carry it around with you, it also doubles as a non-lethal melee weapon that you can even throw at targets to pacify them. Once you’re done using illegal items, such as the Sieger 300 Ghost, you can then pack it away in your briefcase completely undetected. It’s extremely useful when you’re attempting those all-important Sniper Assassin runs.

Kalmer 1 – Tranquilizer or Kalmer 2 – Tranquilizer [Non Lethal]

Type: Pistol
How To Unlock: Whittleton Creek – Complete all three Mission Stories
Mendoza – Reach Mastery Level 5

This is a non-lethal handgun that fires suppressed shots that are capable of putting an NPC to sleep. If you’re looking for an easy way to quickly sedate targets so that you can quickly slip past them or maintain your Silent Assassin rating, then the Kalmer 1 – Tranquilizer or Kalmer 2 – Tranquilizer are the best. You only get two shots that can be used in short-range scenarios, but you’ll find it effective and will save you the hassle of having to sneak up close to pacify NPCs.

It’s completely non-lethal as well, although do keep in mind that you’ll need to dump any bodies that you use the weapon on, as they will be discovered if you don’t.

Krugermeier 2-2 or Krugermeier 2-2 Silver

Type: Pistol
How To Unlock: Bangkok – Reach Mastery Level 20 overall
Mendoza – Reach Mastery Level 10

While some will prefer the ICA19 Silverballer for its high damage and iconic look, we recommend the Krugermeier 2-2 or Krugermeier 2-2 Silver as one of the best overall pistols. The reason for this is that it fires subsonic rounds that are practically silent, making it a great option for distractions. While most civilians and guards will hear the gunshots of most pistols, the Krugermeier 2-2 is so quiet that they’ll generally only hear the impact, prompting them to investigate and give you an opportunity to slip by.

It’s not particularly great at long distance and doesn’t come with many shots, but if you’re planning to play in stealth then this pistol will get the job done better than most others. Get the Steady Aim perk to improve accuracy.

Custom 5mm DTI

Type: Pistol
How To Unlock: Berlin – Reach Mastery Level 7

The Custom 5mm DTI doesn’t have much stopping power when it comes to body shots but like any gun, it’s still lethal when aiming for the head. Not to mention destroying all those pesky cameras. What makes this little gun so useful is that it’s undetectable when Agent 47 has it on his person. Meaning you can take it into high-security areas like the ICA offices in Chongqing.

Sieger 300 Ghost or Hackl Leviathan Sniper Rifle Convert

Type: Sniper Rifle
How To Unlock: Marrakesh – Complete all three levels in The Cheveyo Calibration Escalation contract
Chongqing – Reach Mastery Level 20

Two of the best sniper rifles in the game, and effectively essential for Sniper Assassin challenges. The Sieger 300 Ghost or Hackl Leviathan Sniper Rifle Convert may lack a little in range and damage, but they’re silent, allowing you to remain undercover even when firing from areas with nearby civilians and guards. It features four levels of zoom, reloads quickly, and even allows you to slow down time. You can bring it into the field with you by using a container like the ICA Briefcase, or you can choose to stash it somewhere in the level.

Lethal Poison Vial or Lethal Poison Pills

Type: Poison
How To Unlock: Paris – Reach Mastery Level 15 overall
Whittleton Creek – Reach Mastery Level 7
Berlin – Reach Mastery Level 10

The Lethal Poison can be administered into food or drink for an easy Poison Elimination and Accidental Kill. Assuming you can slip either of these into your target’s food or drink undiscovered, you’ll retain your Silent Assassin rating. Effectively making this a free hit that you can bring out into the field with you.

Sieker 1 [Non Lethal]

Type: Pistol
How To Unlock: Haven Island – Reach Mastery Level 10

While you can use items like Poison items to spike the food or drink of your target, sometimes that may not be ideal. The Sieker 1 is a non-lethal dartgun that administers a dosage of emetic poison to anyone you desire. This will prompt the person you target to head to the nearest toilet in order to vomit, creating an easy opportunity for you to subdue them and steal their outfit or drown them if that’s up your ally.

You only get two shots so its use is somewhat limited, but it’s extremely effective at quickly and quietly isolating individual targets.
