Genshin Impact is mine and about 17 million other people’s latest gaming obsession. A gorgeous free to play open-world RPG, its game mechanics revolve on building your adventuring team. To make money Genshin Impact utilises a gacha system to unlock weapons and characters. Predictably this is the only way you can obtain some of the best weapons and characters. But for some of the part, you’re able to grind and earn Pirogems for a couple of rolls on your own. If you’re having trouble with this be sure to read our guide on how to get more Pirogems.
I’ve so far had no luck getting Diluc and Xiangling, some of the best Pyro wielders in the game, and am still stuck with Amber. But that all might change with the introduction of Genshin Impact‘s first new character since the game has launched. Klee is a new Pyro 5-star and Catalyst character and she’ll be featured in the upcoming to the gacha banner.
The Klee banner together with the new Epitome Invocation will replace the previous Venti banner. Launching on October 20th, 1800 (server time), until November 9th.
What Does The Gacha Banner Mean?
For those of you that haven’t gone into the math of the Genshin Impact gacha system, 5-star character drop rates are very low. Or a 0.6% chance to be exact. With the banner, this means that there will be a 50% chance that the 5-star will be Klee as opposed to one of the others. But after 90 attempts, a 5-star character is guaranteed. You do not want to know how much 90 attempts costs.
Three 4 star characters will also have an enhanced 50% probability rate are Xingqiu, Sucrose, and Noelle.
Side note: miHoYo already confirmed the ongoing pity counter carries from one time-limited gacha banner to another. For example, if you already did 50 pulls on the Venti banner without getting a 5 star, your pity counter for the Klee banner will start at 50. So just 40 more to go to get that guaranteed character return, yay.
Introducing Klee
If you were one of the early beta testers of Genshin Impact you may have play tested Klee early on. She was present during the 2nd and 3rd Closed-beta tests and was previously playable during the Story Quest – The Mystery of the Girl in Red’s Treasure. She’s now fully obtainable in today’s Sparkling Steps banner.
Klee is an explosives expert in the Knights of Favonius. Unfortunately, we hardly see her around because she’s often locked in the confinement room for blowing things up. Using a Catalyst as her primary weapon aka magic like Mona, Lisa and Barbara, she deals large AoE damage.
Normal Attacks

For her normal attack, Klee throws 3 explosive balls of fire that burst on impact and deal AoE damage. Her charged attack uses up a certain amount of stamina as it loads up and then, deals a large amount of AoE damage. These two attacks are aptly named Kaboom.
For her plunging attack Klee gathers power and plunges towards the ground from mid-air, damaging all enemies in her path. Deals AoE Pyro DMG upon impact with the ground.
Elemental Skills

Her elemental attack is called “Jumpy Dumpty“. On casting this attack, Klee releases a fiery satchel that bounces thrice and deals damage with each impact. At the end of the third bounce, it then burst into many little mines. Now, these mines are very cool because they operate in 3 ways.
They either burst on impact or automatically after a short time. However, apart from that, you can also use Ameno to gather these little mines together in a clot and hurl them at an enemy. This deals a huge amount of AoE damage. So, pair Klee with Jean, Venti or other Anemo types. To see how all the elements in Genshin Impact work together you can check out our elemental guide here.

Finally, as her ultimate, Klee’s has her Elemental burst named “Sparks n Splash”. On using this ability, Klee summons sparks and splashes and deals a massive amount of AoE damage to enemies over a period of time.
Passive Talents

Klee is not as team-friendly as let’s say Jean or Venti because her abilities don’t really aid her teammates directly. However, she does have a couple of nice passives to boost her own damage. The first is ‘Pounding Surprise‘ – When dealing with normal attack damage or casting ‘Jumpty Dumpty‘, Klee has a 50% chance to obtain an Explosive Spark. This Explosive Spark is consumed by the next Charged Attack, which costs no Stamina and deals 50% increased DMG.
The next passive talent is called ‘Sparkling Burst‘ where Klee’s Charged Attack results in a CRIT, all party members gain 2 Elemental Energy. It’s mildly useful but not great if you’re looking for more support for your team. Lastly, as a small little passive skill, she displays the location of nearby resources unique to Mondstadt on the mini-map.
What’s Next For Genshin Impact

Even if you’ve been playing Genshin Impact consistently since it launched you probably still haven’t run out of things to do. But there’s still more content to come! Over the next few months, miHoYo will be adding new quests, locations, events and of course new characters to Genshin Impact. According to their forum page.
According to the latest roadmap set out by the developer, we’re getting our first big update on November 11th. The new patch will include the new ‘Unreconciled Stars‘ event, as well as four new characters. A leak of the patch suggests that there will be a Geo 5-star and a Hydro 5-star in our future.
The next patch will be on December 23rd which will open up a whole new area called Dragonspine as well as a new unnamed event. This means players will have new materials to farm, new items to sacrifice to the statue and increase their stamina, and a new element for The Traveler.
Lastly, there will be a patch coming sometime in Febrauary 2021 that will include a new Lantern Rite event and some new characters. We’ll keep you updated as we know more! For all our Genshin Impact news and guides be sure to read through our articles here.
