PS5 Games That Will Be Available On The PS4

Today’s hot topic – the PlayStation 5. When is it coming out? And how much does it cost?. Well, the answer to the first question is November 12th for the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. While the rest of the world will be getting our giant piece of gaming tech on November 19th. The cost for the PS5 is now set at USD 399.99 (~RM1,652) while PS5 with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive will retail for USD 499.99 (~RM2,065). I’d expect that to change with import taxes etc. by the time it gets here. We all remember the jacked up prices for the Switch a couple of years ago.

Now if you’re not an early adopter of the PlayStation 5 simply because you’re waiting for prices to stabilise, to see if any issues pop up or simply don’t have the cash. I feel you homes. Then you’re in luck because last night Sony announced that a few of its next-gen games will also be available for the PS4. Sony’s post says that “we know that the PS4 community will transition to PS5 at different times, and we’re happy to announce PS4 versions of some of our exclusives.” So me getting the console purely to play Horizon Forbidden West is now yesterday’s problem. Let’s get some happy with this list.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

The PlayStation 5’s biggest launch title Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be coming to the PlayStation 4! Previously, the game had only been confirmed for the PS5 but now the rest of us will get to enjoy the adventures of our new web-swinging superhero Miles Morales. Some of you non-comic book readers will recognise Miles from his silver screen debut in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. And much like his predecessor before him, Miles develops superhuman abilities when bitten by a spider his uncle had been experimenting on.

Insomniac’s 2018 Spider-Man was one of the best games that year so we have high expectations for Miles Morales. Yesterday’s trailer featured some new gameplay and it looks extremely exciting. Spider-Man: Miles Morales should be launching at the same time as the PS5 on November 12th / 19th.

Horizon Forbidden West

Yaaaaaaasssss Queen! Horizon Forbidden West the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to the PlayStation 4 as well. This is by far one of the best and most definitive games of the PlayStation 4. To call it “generation defining” would be an accurate statement and if you have a PS4 and haven’t played Horizon Zero Dawn then you’re losing out and should go get it immediately. Developed by Guerrilla Games, Horizon Zero Dawn debuted on February 2017 and ended up being one of the console’s bestselling games, with sales of more than 10 million copies worldwide.

Set in a gorgeous post-apocalyptic world where machine and nature are now the dominating force, we follow a young Aloy as she looks to discover her past. We’ve already written a whole article dedicated to Horizon Forbidden West so to find out more check it out open here. As you can tell this is the title I’m most excited about coming to the PS4.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure

Lastly in today’s news is Sackboy: A Big Adventure. A LittleBigPlanet spin-off by SumoDigital that looks endlessly charming. It still has the light-hearted look and feel of LittleBigPlanet but instead of creating worlds, you’ll be focusing on 3D action-adventure platforming. Sackboy is compatible with up to four co-op players at a time.

So there we have it, all the PS5 games that are coming to the PS4. Of course, you’ll need to make allowances for the PS4 games missing some of the next-generation features. But Sony has so generously included with these titles a free version of the game when you do make the please to the PS5. Digital-only I’m assuming.
