KFC is publishing a dating sim called I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator. And we are here for it. Now, this isn’t the first time that KFC has done something out of the bucket when it comes to marketing. There’s been a weird line of KFC-flavoured nail polish. Which I know sounds good in theory but is probably pretty unhygienic. Also just buy the chicken guys, don’t eat your nail polish.
Now with the help of Psyop, a New York-based advertising company KFC is bringing us the most “delicious dating simulator ever”. Their words, not mine. The game brings you into a fried chicken fueled dream that let’s face it I’m sure we’ve all had. Attending culinary school with Colonel Sanders. This Colonel Sanders hasn’t put on all that fried chicken weight at this point but is still rocking his trademark silver fox hair and moustache. You’ll have to navigate culinary school and friendships as you try to win Sanders over as a business partner “or maybe more.” The game includes secret recipes, cooking battles, “battle battles” and a secret ending.
I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator game’s description reads. “Throughout your journey, you’ll be faced with life-changing decisions that will affect your chances of friendship and love. But be careful! Your choices have real consequences with real animated characters’ feelings at stake.” There are nine characters for you to interact with and potentially romance in the game. In addition to a dog, who is a professor, called Professor Dog of course.
Now, this isn’t the first time KFC has tried to convince people that the Colonel is a sexy, eligible bachelor. Back in 2017, KFC released a steamy romance novel called Tender Wings of Desire. Written by the Colonel himself it was, strangely enough, a marketing push for Mother’s Day. Hmmmm. The novel centres on Lady Madeline Parker, who “must choose between a life of order and a man of passion”.
