The Best of Nintendo Direct From E3 2019

Luigi’s Mansion 3

Green Mario is back and surprise, surprise he’s afraid of ghosts. It’s been six long years since Nintendo last released a game in the Luigi’s Mansion series. The third game of this series takes place in a hotel where you’ve been invited to stay with your friends. Unfortunately, the hotel isn’t quite what it seems and things take a dark turn when you arrive. There are some ghost guests who refuse to check out and they’re not exactly friendly.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 comes equipped with a brand spanking new vacuum, the Poltergust G-00. That can not just suck ghosts but fire plungers, work as a jetpack and use the Strobulb. The most exciting news is that Luigi’s Mansion will have co-op and competitive modes. There’s no exact release date as of yet but we will be getting the game sometime this year.

The Witcher 3

Yaaaaaaasssss. If you haven’t played The Witcher before you should play it on the Nintendo Switch. If you have played The Witcher before you should play it on the Nintendo Switch. The Witcher 3 is an action RPG set in a fantasy world of humans, elves, dwarves and monsters. You play as Geralt a monster hunter known as The Witcher and the tale is an epic one, embroiled in political intrigue, spectral warriors and magic.

The Witcher 3 will come complete with all the expansion packs included. Now the only issue is how the game is going to run. The Switch is a comparably less powerful console than the PS4 and Xbox One. With the game only running at 540p in handheld mode and 720p while docked with dynamic resolution. There were some hardware trade-offs for the Switch edition, including shorter draw distance and less foliage. That being said CD Projekt Red is “really happy” with how The Witcher 3 plays on Switch. There’s no exact release date as of yet but The Witcher 3 will launch sometime this year.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order

The Marvel’s Avengers game from Square Enix made plenty of waves, sure. But Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: the Black Order deserves plenty of attention too. You’ll be able to play as one of the countless characters from across the rich Marvel universe in an action RPG setting. Plus, we get to see Magneto wielding an Infinity Stone, and we can’t wait to see how that pans out.

While this sequel is the 3rd official instalment in the Marvel Ultimate Alliance series, its plot takes place in an entirely different universe than the last two games. The overall plotline will focus on the heroes and villains of the Marvel Comics universe as they look to deal with the threat of Thanos and his Black Order army. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will be out on July 19th 2019.

No More Heroes 3

Nintendo announced No More Heroes 3 during its Nintendo Direct at E3 2019, delighting fans of the series who have been waiting for a new game since Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, which was released in January of this year. The last core game in the series was No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, however, which was released back in 2010.

The games centre on the exploits of a hero named Travis Touchdown, whose goal is to become the world’s best assassin. He wields a beam katana, a weapon that bears a remarkable resemblance to a lightsaber. No More Heroes 3 is coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2020.

Astral Chain

Created by Takahisa Taura, lead game designer for Nier: Automata and Hideki Kamiya, creator of BayonettaAstral Chain is an upcoming action game which shows a lot of promise. It’s a ‘synergetic action game’ where you’ll need to control two characters in order to survive. You are humanity’s last chance against an interdimensional invasion is a sentient weapon called the Legion. You play as a Legionis agent bonded with a Legion chimaera.

As a rookie officer in an elite police task force, players will work together with their Legion to solve cases and save humankind. You can have your characters attack the same target or send them after different enemies, or you could hang back and support your Legion with items while it handles the frontlines. No matter how you fight, you’ll have access to a staggering variety of attacks, and your combo list will only expand as you bond with new chimaera.

Astral Chain will launch on Nintendo Switch on August 30, 2019.
