What To Buy At The Steam Winter Sale 2018
Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas… to me! It’s pretty much too late by now to head out and buy any last minute Christmas gifts, but you know what you can do? Shop online at the Steam Winter Sale. The sales are great if a bit overwhelming, so we at Unpause are here to help. Try to fill your cart up with some games for other people!
In addition to shopping, Steam is also running its annual Steam Awards (with voting open to the public now) and added a new perk to the savings call The Extremely Cozy Cottage of Surprises that will offer fun little surprises like wallpapers and in-game skins every day until the sales end on January 3.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 [60% Off]
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Vermintide. The time has arrived to revisit the fierce first-person co-op slaughter-fest featuring visceral and groundbreaking melee action, set in the apocalyptic End Times of the war-ravaged Warhammer Fantasy Battles world. Our 5 heroes have returned to take on an even greater threat – the combined forces of a malevolent and destructive Chaos army and the swarming Skaven horde.
Dark Souls III [75% Off]
Haven’t felt ready to accept the hellish challenge that is Dark Souls 3? Maybe at a 75% discount, you’ll feel more ready to. For those just starting out don’t be afraid to start playing and take on the challenge. I’m not saying you’re not going to die, but that’s not any reason to not play.

Rocket League [50% Off]
There’s a reason this game still has hype despite being released 3 years ago. Rocket League is football or soccer, (whichever you prefer) meets driving. Your goal is to use your booster rigged vehicles to crash your ball into the goal. It’s faced paced and hella fun. But the best part is that you can play it locally or take it online, so put those Christmas charades away.
Don’t Starve Together [60% Off]
The adorable survival game now in multiplayer! Don’t Starve is a pretty fun survival game that’s set in a strange and unexplored world full of strange creatures, dangers, and surprises. Gather resources to craft items and structures that match your survival style. Play your way as you unravel the mysteries of this strange land. Cooperate with your friends in a private game, or take your chances with strangers online. Work with other players to survive the harsh environment, or strike out on your own.
Final Fantasy XV [50% Off]
Now here’s a game that’s just for you. Final Fantasy XV is a decade in the making and was one of 2016’s biggest JRPG launches. The Final Fantasy series introduces the young prince Noctis and his boy band as they go on a road trip to save the world. It’s got some of the best action battle systems and was for a time only exclusive to the PlayStation 4. That’s changed however and now you can get it on Steam for half off.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice [50% Off]
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is oft-considered one of the best indie games released in recent memory. The reason for this is because it provided AAA production values and presentation even with Ninja Theory’s smaller budget. It tells the tale of a warrior’s brutal journey into myth and madness. Set in the Viking age, a broken Celtic warrior embarks on a haunting vision quest into Viking Hell to fight for the soul of her dead lover. If you managed to miss this at launch, which I most definitely did it’s worth getting now at 50% off.

Little Nightmares [70% Off]
Imagine Little Big Planet as a horror game, with Tim Burton visuals and a creeping soundtrack straight out of 28 Weeks Later, and you’ve got a good idea of what Little Nightmares have in store. A puzzle-platformer with an uneasy difference, Little Nightmares sees you playing as an inexplicably tiny nine-year-old girl, Six, who’s stuck in a surreal submarine world called The Maw. It’s a dark an whimsical tale in a disturbing dollhouse that allows you to connect with your inner child. It doesn’t really seem like a Christmas game but just play it first.
