Garena Bootcamp is up and running for the second time with the establishment of the Garena Student Alliance (GSA). Happening this weekend on the 29th and 30th of July.

Members of the GSA will represent their respective universities to begin preparations for the upcoming GSA Championship. The grandest stage in local collegiate gaming, during the annual Garena Bootcamp gathering at G-Central in Sunway Nexis, Kota Damansara.

This year’s Garena Bootcamp will feature a record-high of 86 student leaders from 44 Malaysian campuses such as Taylor’s University, Sunway University, KDU University College, and much more. To educate them on proper club management, tournament administration, partnership proposals, event marketing, and eSports as a whole. Furthermore, 20 Riot Student Ambassadors (RSA) are expected to be present for the event. Focusing on four core topics Event Planning, Effective Event Marketing, Tournament Rules & Formats and Introduction to GSA Championship.

According to Yasmin Liyana from Garena’s Campus Outreach Team. The presence of GSA is important for the clubs to get ready for collegiate tournaments.

“In the recent Malaysia Campus League (MYCL), the universities played for a slot to compete internationally. However, they’ll be playing for much more during the GSA Championships as the overall champions will walk away with a cash prize and partial scholarships for their future education. “Our primary objective is to educate the students through hands-on experience and hope the Malaysian campus scene becomes the pioneer region for Southeast Asia.” she added..
