“Final Fantasy XV is going to do for the series what Final Fantasy VII Did”
Final Fantasy XV has been in production for the last 10 years. But it was only recently made public that a gaming studio based in Malaysia was involved in it’s production. Streamline Studios has been developing games for the last 15 years and has been involved in major titles such as Bioshock Infinite, Street Fighter V, Gears of War and over 200 AAA game titles. Who knew?
Have a look at some of their impressive portfolio.
The latest installation of the legendary Final Fantasy series is a testament to the capabilities of Streamline. As a game developer and a leader in premium external development services in the video games industry. The company met Square Enix at Tokyo Game Show in 2014 and from there were picked to handle some of the development services for Final Fantasy XV.
Alexander L. Fernandez, Chief Executive Officer of Streamline Studios said “Streamline prides itself on constantly innovating and pushing the boundaries to become one of the world’s leaders in global game development. We’ve invested in creating an environment of the best global talents, technology, and creativity and that’s where it’s gotten us today. Our team are honoured to be working together with Square Enix on the development of such a renowned series as Final Fantasy.”
Streamline Studios working on Final Fantasy XV in Malaysia is by far the biggest game development project in the country besides Passion Republic’s work in Uncharted 4. The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has been trying to foster Malaysia as a regional videogames development hub as part of their #MYGAMEON initiative and this is definitely one of the biggest achievements in Malaysia so far.
This is not the end of announcements for great game titles coming out from Malaysia. And it’s definitely just the beginning of announcements from Streamline who have just upped their numbers to 200, making them the largest studio in Malaysia, with no plans to stop growing!
Final Fantasy XV is out on the 29th of November 2016 and I can’t wait to see it. For those of you that missed it, here is 50 minutes of gameplay footage. Get hyped.
