After Riot told players earlier in the year that a sandbox mode was not on the list of things to be worked on, people were upset. It’s hard to practice combos on unfamiliar champions and test out certain ideas without a free game mode that lets you mess around. Riot is now answering our prayers.
The company confirms that it’s working on a sandbox mode, called Practice Tool, for players and will continue to work on the game mode through preseason.
Practice Tool will let players have the following:
- – Unlimited gold
- – Instant cooldown resets
- – Level locking
- – Minion freezing
The company also notes the importance of making Practice Tool helpful for players of all levels, and not just for pros or Challenger players.
We are doing our best to make this tool inclusive to people at every level. Everyone from Bronze to Challenger should see value in a single-player training mode to practice mechanics and map movement, but we’re currently not looking to develop a multiplayer training tool for organized team drills or pro-play specifically.
Practice Tool is still very much in the works, so there may be more features added during later development.
Riot is giving players back true Solo/Duo Queue, bigger prize pools and now a sandbox mode. It’s even giving Twitch his original ultimate name back. What will we have to complain about now?
