Nintendo is spotlighting independent games all this September, With the Nindies Summer Jam promotion in the Nintendo eShop.
Nintendo has been stepping up their relationship with indie game devs. First through Humble Bundle and then through its developer portal. The company has recently announced the Nindies Summer Jam. A sales and launch promotion event for the Nintendo eShop that spotlights a different indie game in the month of September. With 10 percent off for its first week of launch.
Every Thursday starting September 1st and running through September 30th, Nintendo is releasing several independent hits via the eShop, with some impressive names showing up. You can get an eyeful of the games in the sizzle reel below.

Week 1 September 1st
Axiom Verge by Thomas Happ Games is a retro-style action-platform-exploration game done in a 16-bit style. It gives you power over glitches like those found in classic games, allowing you to scramble enemies, corrupt environments, and enter hidden areas as you explore this hostile alien world.
Week 2 September 8th
Jotun: Valhalla Edition by Jotun Game. Is a gorgeous, hand-drawn action game based on Norse Mythology. In Jotun, you play Thora, a Viking warrior who died an inglorious death and must prove herself to the Gods to enter Valhalla. Impress the Gods!
Week 3 September 15th
Noitu Love: Devolution by Joakim Sandberg. Fight the massive hordes of the Darns as Xoda Rap in this time-bending retro arcade adventure. Fight your way through seven different stages and unlock more, different ways to play them again. Every stage features new tactics and several boss battles.
Week 4 September 22nd
Severed by Drinkbox Studios. Take control of a one-armed heroine named Sasha, wielding a living sword on her journey through a nightmarish world in search of her family.
Week 5 September 30th
Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 by Inti Creates, a Nintendo 3DS exclusive. Azure Striker Gunvolt is a side-scrolling action platform game. The player controls the eponymous Gunvolt, who is able to jump, dash, and utilize a gun with special bullets that “tag” their targets, which grants a homing effect to Gunvolt’s electric fields.
This promotion doesn’t just seem to be about a price discount. The games’ developers have also been invited to curate a special section on the eShop that showcases their favorite games As well as share behind-the-scenes stories on the making of their games as well.
