Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Comes Out In December
Square Enix released a new trailer today for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. Now that the trailer is out, we have tons of new gameplay footage, details, and even a worldwide release date in December 2016.
The trailer starts by showing new footage of the HD remaster of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. The gameplay and story itself seems to be unchanged, but the new resolution and updated textures have brought new life to this once 3DS-exclusive title. Check out a more in-depth update of the Kingdom Hearts story here.
Next, the trailer showed off more of Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep: A Fragmentary Passage. This is the first gameplay we’ve ever seen for this part of Kingdom Hearts 2.8 and the main character, Aqua, seems just as acrobatic as Sora does in the Kingdom Hearts III trailers. During this portion of the trailer, we hear Aqua talking a bit about her journey through the Realm of Darkness. She even sees what’s more than likely an illusion of her friend Terra.
In the last third, the trailer revealed more of Kingdom Hearts Χ: Back Cover, which focuses on the fights between the foretellers in Kingdom Hearts: Unchained X. Many tense scenes were shown in which the foretellers were arguing among themselves. Toward the end of the trailer, we even see some physically fighting each other with keyblades.
Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue releases in December 2016 exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
