A Look At The Battle of Jakku in Star Wars: Battlefront
November is finally here, which means so is Star Wars: Battlefront. In fact, the game releases exactly two weeks from Tuesday, and we couldn’t be more excited. Sure, we’re probably more pumped for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but EA and DICE’s shooter should be enough to tide us over the month leading up to J.J. Abrams’ highly anticipated film. We’ve been pretty impressed by what we’ve seen so far, but have been thinking about the image of pre-Force Awakens Jakku, that the folks behind the game posted back in August, for the past few months. Luckily, EA hit the web today to release a teaser for the epic battle we’ll be able to check out once December 8 rolls around.
Check out the trailer below.
Though brief, the clip shows the sandy planet we’ve been seeing in promos for both the film and the game. As I mentioned above, everybody who owns the game will be able to explore Jakku on December 8, while those who pre-order the title will get first dibs on December 1. The best part is that the content will be available for free, which means you won’t have to fork over $50 for the season pass to grab it.
Although we don’t know much about the location itself, we do know that the Battle of Jakku will take place 29 years before the events in the film. With Battlefront launching an entire month before the film, this should provide players with a smooth transition, and additional background knowledge about what’s going on in Jakku.
In addition to Jakku, players will also be able to explore iconic Star Wars locations like Hoth, Tatooine, and Endor. With familiar faces like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, C-3P0, Princess Leia, and Han Solo will all be making appearances in the game, it’s sure to be a blast.
