Happy Tennis is a motion-sensing multiplayer game designed exclusively for Apple TV. Reminiscent of Wii Tennis and to a lesser extent other ‘party’ games such as Mario Party; Happy Tennis looks like a ‘happy’ addition to the Apple TV lineup.
Developed by Singapore indie developer Happy Labs, Happy Tennis has been designed for single or multiplayer play, supporting up to four players using their iPhones or iPods as a remote control.
Players are able to trigger moves such as volleys, smashes, dashes and ace services, as well as choose their avatars to play in either a singles or doubles match.
Happy Labs founder Jeffery Chee says “With Apple TV being a relatively young platform for games, there is still potential for the market to grow as people discover Apple TV’s potential as an all-encompassing entertainment media hub. We see ourselves as pioneers in this field and are amongst the first locally and in Asia to explore its potential”.
Happy Tennis will be launching on the tvOS store for USD 4.99 in Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and Vietnam, with the rest being released in February.
As a special Chinese New Year promotion you’ll be able to play Happy Tennis for USD 1.99, from the 2nd to 22nd of February! (This article was updated on 02/02/16)
